re: With LSU potentially looking at 2015 Chick Fil A Kickoff Classic -

I would think if the opponent is ASU it would be in Dallas...somewhere in between the two schools. ASU doesn't recruit much east of the Mississippi and Atlanta seems like a stretch for a matchup unless they were going that far east against a different opponent than LSU.
I live in the bay area and stuck watching a bunch of 49er football. Mingo, if uses the same as mostly as a stand-up pass rusher, could come in and look a lot like Aldon Smith.
I'm not saying he would have the same success, but they are similar body type/style. Again, the right fit for him as a pass rusher in a 3-4 might turn out to be a good fit for Mingo. Best of luck to him.

Nice to see a current Tiger in the top 10 and a few La high schooler among the top 20:

ESPN must be loving Hebert right now

You know damn well this ESPN is quietly celebrating Hebert going to town on Miles. It does not matter if you agree with Hebert or not at this point. He is not just soiling Miles name but LSU's as well.
Please take that from someone who roots very hard for LSU from California and works with people who only get their sports new from "the WWL"...

Pic of Matt Flynn after Super Bowl

Had to share this w/the Rant. An old buddy of mine is a photographer down in LA and was on field during/after the game and I grabbed this shot off his facebook. Congrats to Flynn and the boys! Notice another former Tiger, Howard Green, in the background. About as good a Super Bowl photo as you get right!

I kept hearing last year from my sister and her son in Belle Chasse who played high school ball w/James Wright that he was Texas all the way.
Just saying.
Just saying.
It's likely a software template to make sure they have enough spaces just in case so they don't have to fix it later.
re: Is LSU a brand all in its own?

I was in the military from 97-08. Between Texas/Arizona/Florida from 97-99, Hawaii 99-03, North Texas again in 03, and now California to this day since 03.
This is a tought question. Yes "The World Wide Leader" kills LSU's exposure. Yes the sales numbers do speak for themselves. But I don't see it in the stores outside Louisiana and never really have. Even during the championship seasons.
If I want LSU lootz, and I always do, I need to go online. I know this. My wife DEFINITELY knows this .
As a brand, I would think LSU is a brand. A brand created and cultivated very well by its own fanbase in Louisiana. So from what I can tell, LSU fans might be putting money back into its own better than any other fan base.
Just a thought

we didn't offer Ed reed and reggie Wayne
Sorry to jump in like this, but I graduated w/Reggie Wayne, and on signing day that year there was an huge LSU bus behind our gym next to the athletic building for half the day.
So yeah, they offered.
First post:
I'm from New Orleans area and long since been transplanted to California after a lengthy military career. For a much as I've bashed and been aggravated with Les Miles (just now really warming up to him as coach), Crowton, ect over the years, I’m reminded by these clowns out here to appreciate what I have: a winner.
I’m surrounded by fan for a moment California team fans and transplanted Ohio St., Texas, ‘Bama, and other notable BCS school fans. And no matter the argument, when I talk LSU football, I win every damn argument.
I know I couldn’t be as patient with LSU if I was back home attending games and talking LSU with fellow LSU faithful on a regular basis, but take heart that we really are better and largely more respected than most football programs out there.
PS: Crowden sucks.
