great article!

I agree with everything except the fact that the pitching will be magnificiant...If we can get the saturday and sunday pitcers to have great years, we will be magnificiant though.

After hearing what Ryan paid for his engagement ring, I assume he is gone.

I've also heard rumors that his fiancee wants him to stay another year, FWIW.

FWIW, him having a fiancee was a rumor, he's gone

Talking to Paul, I was under the impression that Ryan Schimpf should be moved to the Possibly Returning slot or Possibly Going, it wasn't as sure of a yeah he's gonna go type of deal.

Very interesting, but that doesn't make a lot of sense.

Schimpf hit his ceiling in the draft as a 5th rounder. He will get around 200k, won a title and has nothing more to do in college. It would be great to see him in Alex Box next year, but truthfully, it's not in his best interest.

I feel the same way about Dean. If he comes back, he would probably be drafted around the same area. It's better for him to go now.

how many are sophomores only having played half a season at their current position though?

awesome logic. They drafted him in the 2nd round because they think he sucks. DEFINITELY COMING BACK NOW!!!!

With Mainieri's connection to the Cubs, there is no way DJ doesn't sign. You've got to think that Hendry and PM talked at length about this or else they wouldn't have wasted a 2nd round pick.

What prompted Farnsworth to forgo his senior season? Was he cut/asked to leave to open up another roster spot?

Farnsworth is a senior academically so there is really no point to schedule 12 more hours of useless classes next year just to warm up in the pen all year

I think DJ is gone, but he has alot of power in the negotiations because he's only a So. and if he doesn't get what he wants, who knows. He could always come back next year, get drafted in the 1st or 2nd round and still have alot of leverage.
