That wasn’t my intention. But if Skenes is all about routine. A good showing gives him a good case. That’s all I’m saying. Glad my post gave you joy this week. Hope to do so more this weekend.

This. I get that you have to win to get there, but our goal is a championship, not another runner-up finish. Playing a best of 3 series against any team, much less Florida, without Skenes is bad news.

He'll be able to pitch game 3 if there's a weather delay, and it's supposed to storm on the first day of the Finals
Even if that gambit doesn't pay off, our guys have been pitching lights out this tournament. We'll be fine.

We’ve been limiting his pitch count all season, especially towards the end of regular and sec tourney. This is why. Now it’s time to turn him loose.

We won't be playing against Florida without Skenes. We just need to win one of the first two games against Florida and then have Skenes for the final game Monday night

You can’t win it all without getting to the championship game. Skenes is your best shot to get to that series and once there you at least got a chance. You have no chance if you lose tonight.

If Quinn Matthews can throw 180 pitches in 3 days and 156 in a game, Skenes certainly can. His build is more sustainable than that of Matthews.

I still see a possible play to start someone else. I don’t see that happening though.
Start someone else. See if we can get a lead with our offense. Then manipulate the pitching as long as possible. Bring in Skenes if there is an emergency happening or if they start hot.
