The biggest question surrounding LSU leaving the spring is still the biggest question entering the fall ... Who’s the quarterback?

Veteran Myles Brennan, Arizona State transfer Jayden Daniels, and second-year Tiger Garrett Nussmeier are the three QBs competing for that starting spot, as the season opener with FSU looms large.

“I was really proud of the way they were focused on what we asked them to do,” said Kelly. “It’s understanding the technical and tactical aspects of practice. That’s what we are trying to do. We are trying to lay down the programming so when we get to Florida State, just press play and go play fast. They did a nice job today.

This is so dumb. It’s Brennan’s until it’s not.

Based on what?

The most game experience? No
History with the staff? No
Familiarity with the playbook? No

He definitely could be the starter against FSU but to claim he is 100% the front runner right now is preposterous.

If this were true, they wouldn't be wasting equal reps on other guys. I'd say Brennan is trying to fight off Nuss.

Brennan is an extremely talented passer, but unless the offensive line is amazing, I worry that he will struggle to have success against teams with a good pass rush.

Coach Kelly understands the importance of having a quarterback that can move around, shake off would be tacklers, and extend plays long enough to find an open receiver or takeoff running.

Brennan may get the first chance as starter but if he is unable to avoid sacks or if he’s getting rid of the ball before the plays can fully develop, I believe that Coach Kelley will not wait very long to switch to Nuss or Daniels.

My guess is that Brennan is the starter against Florida State and Daniels comes in for some designed runs and maybe a pass or two.

I would really love to see things work out for Brennan this year, but I see Coach Kelly eventually turning to Nuss.

Guess what? It's not. Seniority doesn't count in this contest.

Watched practice video on Dandy Don site. Impressed by Walker Howard's effort to stay involved with simulated snaps as Brennan ( maybe others ) was taking snaps.
Howard's reads and release seemed a lot quicker than Brennan's. Of course Walker wasn't throwing the ball, so...

Worth watching imo.

The one BK trots out.

I don't know why people go through this every year.

Just seeing Brennan and the rest of qb’s play, he is clearly the most poised and best we have at that position. I would be very surprised if we see someone else start out there.

I disagree that he is clearly the best we have at that position. Apparently the coaching staff does as well, given the QB competition.

Based on him being mentored by Burrow and that is something you absolutely must fail with prior to going another direction.

Brennan is not aligned. It's Nuss.

LOL. Nuss quit last year when the job was his.

Why the frick does this board shite on our guys?

Do some of y’all not have the intelligence or vocabulary to give an opinion about a player without giving a negative one about another player? It’s not hard to do . I’m fine with whoever, they all are plenty talented enough to win with and with our qb history , they should be in for one of the better seasons a qb has had at LSU

Don't get out of your lane.
I've heard two commentators and an ex player/commentator, reading the tea leaves, indicate it's Nuss and Daniels.
I like all the QBs, but the one or two who fit Kelly's offense, will be the ones who play.

Starting QB still biggest question

It's not the biggest question for me. As it is Nuss who is not only by far the most talented of the three QBs, but who is also already far better than the other two QBs at the same time.

Not to mention that Nuss' upside is far greater than the other two QBs and Nuss will only get better and better after each and every game.

I mean it would be absolutely stupid to risk losing Nuss to the transfer portal by appointing one of the other lesser talented QBs for political or emotional reasons.

Play the QB who gives LSU the best chance to win and that QB is a no brainer. It's Garrett Nussmeier by a mile.
