Could be all Freshman and Sophomores and be better than this year.

I would be pretty surprised if Perry starts at guard next year. He’s a guy that we’ve heard virtually nothing about. Like his name doesn’t even come up when they talk about guys competing for the job. I guess it could happen as that’s one of the positions that will be wide open, but he’d have to make significant progress in the off season.

Not sure who will start next year, but barring some awfully talented transfers, the offensive line and linebackers will once again prevent an otherwise talented team from being more than mediocre. I just hope by saying mediocre, I'm not overselling this year's results.

Honestly, the dude limits our play calling because he has concrete in his cleats. Time to move on.

Dellinger…. Maybe Turner…. Maybe Bradford… but outside of those guys it’s a crap shoot. I don’t think any freshman start day 1 but probably going to have to go in the portal for the OL to be anything above average.
The bad thing is our 2nd string OL would probably produce similar results to the 1st string this year.

They are going to be going hard after OL players in the portal. More than likely 2-3 starters aren’t on the team currently.

Just hope Dumervil will start somewhere but not too optimistic

He was manhandled by Mcneese state 260lb DL. Very disappointed. Not a good sign.

I’m sure Deculus will be at right tackle somehow. He’s never leaving!

quote:LOL, they do it all the time and become NFL starters. Larry Tunsil, Evan Neal Bama (considered a first round prospect this year), Cam Robinson at Bama went in the first round, starting in league, Trey Smith Tennessee earned several All SEC first team honors, Kenyon Green started OL at TAMU and was an All American, Andrew Thomas started all 15 games on UGA's championship appearance team and was the #4 overall pick in 2020, Bryce Foster is starting for TAMU right now, etc, etc.
No true freshman should ever start on the OL at LSU or any SEac school. Will Campbell will likely be really good for us but he will get his arse kicked out their was a true freshman starting.
Vadal Alexander started plenty as as true freshman, but didn't start the year there.
If Campbell is ready, he will start next year.

This is sad that a national championship team only 2 years ago did not use this to recruit elite players on Oline. We had the college football world in our hands. Every top recruit had LSU on their list and fast forward to today and we are hoping to have a decent/average oline thru the portal. While our rival to the east(bama) stacks 5 star talent at every position on the oline.

Collins didn't start as a freshman.
As far as freshmen starting, it's rare, but yeah, it does happen. I don't think you really want to be in that position where you're expecting it, though. OL is more developmental than other positions. If a guy is fairly advanced early on, and it works out, okay, but I wouldn't really put that expectation on a freshman.
