Is there a risk that he dies from throwing too many pitches?

Yea those 30-40 pitches would help so much right now huh?

Gotta keep if from getting ugly or it doesn't matter

That's illogical. If it gets ugly before or after skene's it doesn't matter. The fact is that he isn't going anywhere close to a CG tomorrow so the other guys have to do their job. Now if you want to make the case for him keeping his same routine by starting then I get that. But there is an argument to be made for wanting your guy on the mound 6-9 than 1-4 if he is on a 60-70 pitch count.

Let him set the pace. Let him go through his normal routine and throw 50-60 pitches and hand the ball to Hurd, just like any other game. BOTH are use to those roles and situations. Fill in after - if necessary - with Herring, Coleman and Cooper.

You just saw what he did on short rest. He has it in him. Start him and ride till he falls off.

Start Skenes until he can’t go. Then bring in Herring or Hurd, then the other and have Coop drive the nail in to seal the deal.

I agree he should pitch, but he made himself those millions. You aren’t getting shite either way, why risk his arm over it?

Pitch him as long as he’s effective
He’ll have plenty of time to rest after we win the CWS!!!

Yeah this is a great way to never get another skenes to come to your program again.

The dude is a sure fire MLB stud and will likely make multiple 9 figures in his career.

As long as his arm doesn’t fall off…

Pitching him tomorrow 5-6 innings will not hurt him. Just get us close until Hurd, Cooper and Herring can take over

Yes. Tell him “give me three zeroes” and then go from there. Starting anyone else you risk getting boat raced again.

If Hurd and Skenes are on pitch counts, I would pitch backwards with Skenes being the closer. If Hurd can go 4 or 5 innings, let him start.
