Lester do you have the snap counts anywhere? I have the general participation report, but haven't seen snap counts anywhere.

just to state the obvious, delane is the best we've had since stingley

Wholeheartedly agree. He was ridiculous last night . He was always good player at VA tech but an offseason with Raymond has taken His game to another level.

He did play. Special teams for sure.

My mistake, didn’t pay as close of attention to special teams units.

He did not play any defensive snaps though

Does anybody know the scoop on this? I thought he was going to be a starter at corner until last night. I’m definitely not complaining, just curious. Sorry if this has already been addressed

Media reports said he was running with the 1s early in camp, but they don’t see everything. They also reported Woodland coming on strong the last week or so. He obviously won the starting job, but it’s notable that Pickett also passed him up. The talent advantage is undeniable, but Stamps does have a lot of experience.

I expect Stamps will still get rotation snaps and play when we run Dime with Perkins either moved or off the field.

How about the fact that he was bad last year? I was glad to see that he has been replaced.

He struggled as a CB1 and 2. Move him to 3 or 4 and that same player can often be fine covering lesser/younger WRs. But the fact that he’s been passed up is a good thing. It definitely means the talent level is better.

I think that was more of our local media speculation based on what they saw from the rotations in the limited time they were able to view practices. But there were also reports that Pickett was picking this up very quickly and even had some very nice plays, so I’m not surprised he passed Stamps up. Hopefully this is a bit of a reset for Stamps and he’s able to get his feet back under him. I think he can still be a very good CB.

Damn, he didn’t even see the field. Do you think it’s a talent issue or a discipline issue?

I know I saw him out there but I didn’t realize Pickett was out there nearly half the snaps. Good thing to not notice DBs usually huh.

Stamps being passed up is a good thing.

He’s a nice kid but he’s not and elite CB

Id be shocked it if were a talent issue. Especially with Haulcy out the 1st Half, he would have played in some capacity.

He might have been talking out his arse, but Mascona mentioned Stamps may have been in the doghouse for some reason.

I think we just have really good corners. Delane will play practically every snap. Woodland, Pickett, and Stamps will all play alot depending on the scheme and how they're performing. It is very healthy to have depth and competition at every position group. You can literally sub interchangeably and keep continuity. Ja'Keem Jackson is another solid CB.

Stamps just has zero ball skills with the ball in the air. Very rarely got out played or beat from a athletic standpoint but he never could make a play on the ball or time his jumps when in coverage.

I agree with you. To go from returning starter and running with the 1’s in camp to not seeing the field at all is just a little fishy.

Before the Clemson game I’d say yes but the way Delane looked in the Clemson game if you replace him as CB1 with even Pickett then you are an idiot. But I will agree with Pickett taking over as CB2 although Woodland looked very good as well

Stamps getting passed over

LSU needs the depth. I’m sure he and Pickett will get plenty of opportunities on Saturday. The Clemson game was a game that required experience and the best players. It was the right decision.
