Still have concerns about protecting White in the lineup. I was hoping that would be Jones coming into the year but it may have to be Travinski.
I think it was always going to be Travinski. I think that protection for White is perfectly fine. Just need guys to be able to get on before those 2 guys.

Good to see Kling with the .472 OBP. He has to play up to his potential this year. No one else on the roster has his combination of size, power, and speed.
I've said since he got to campus for people not to expect him to come in and start killing it. He was highly ranked based off of his potential and the size, speed, power you mentioned but baseball in Pennsylvania isn't really the greatest of competition. Was going to take some time for him to catch up to the college competition but I think he will continue to get better as the season goes on.

84 PA with 10 K for Milam in the fall and spring with all the Ks coming in the fall. That is very impressive and love to see a tough at bat at the plate. I think that kind of stuff will definitely get him early playing time.
Officially putting Jones on alert. I have faith Jones can put it together and I love the power.
But Jay isn’t going to tolerate striking out anywhere near a 40% clip for very long in the regular season.

Mikie Mahtook…I know you’re reading this…when you steal this info and put it on your site like last year, credit “BayTiger13”

I don't know if "killing it" is the correct term, but before his injury last year he was playing pretty damn well.

I agree. I just feel like some people put Dylan Crews type production on him leading into last year.

I'm ready for Project's weekend preview thread.
Not to be a spoiler, but VMI has a kid named Trey Morgan.

While you're at it, scrimmages in which only the players on the LSU baseball team are participating are called INTRASQUAD not intersquad.

But what if it’s a scrimmage between the pitching staff and the fielders/batters?
Kidding, but I do always pronounce it as intersquad

I'll see what I can do. I haven't done any research on any of the teams we're playing yet. And usually I only rely on snark for the conference series and try to make the non-conference ones actually informative.

Pronunciation is one thing.
They put the wrong word on the youtube videos.

Also would you or Jared get us some answers to the Gage Jump disappearance mystery while you're in the dugout or interviewing players/staff?

No pressure. I've looked at the first weekend a little bit. VMI can hit a bit but won't have much pitching. Veteran team. Central Ark is pretty weak all around. They may have a decent pitcher or 2.

If they publish any injury information before Jay tells them to they’ll never get another interview again.

Jones would be a stock down guy for me right now. Doesn't appear to have fixed his issues from last year. Travinski is your protection for White.
Would not surprise me to eventually see Brown at 1B, Pearson in RF, and Milam at 2nd base as the team settles on a regular lineup.

One rumor I've heard for jump is a possible back issue...can't substantiate it though. If true hopefully just tightness.

I get this obviously but I'm not looking to read his medical files. Just get some idea on when we'll see him throwing again.
shite a couple weeks ago, Jay had him facing the media and all talk was that he'd be a starter in the rotation come opening day.
Obviously that's changed as he only threw one inning since then. But pretty sure they have a plan in place to work him back and begin to extend him at some point.
I suspect they may be hoping that it comes by the time we travel to Houston, the only thing is there isn't much time to get him ready for that timeframe.

I understand that but Jay doesn’t like it being public who is available and who isn’t. It was months before he confirmed that Shores wouldn’t return last season when it was obvious to everyone watching that he tore his UCL.
It’s just how Jay is.

I realize all of this. But you are doing your best to hamper my bitching and moaning session about something baseball related.
I'm doing my best to Rantard and getting everything shot down with logic and reasoning.
