The specifics are too many losses during his time at LSU. If he starts winning more then problem solved.

So given the other 85% of the game they are fairly efficient and scoring di he suddenly change strategy and run bad offense? Florida had an even worse drought at the end of the first half. Did Golden suddenly stupid? The simple fact is at this time Florida has better players. LSU is not there yet, but have enough talent to compete for most of the games. Eventually more good players win out in most games. There are good players around the league who were inconsistent the last couple of seasons but continued to develop. We are seeing some of that now with LSU players, but not consistently enough. This team is not ready to compete for the league title , but is a lot closer to contending for a spot in the first half of the league standings than many of you will admit.

1) Rotations- He has absolutely no idea who to play and when. Mike Williams sat for half the year because he had one bad turnover game in the 3rd game of the year. Inexcusable.
He sat Corey Chest for the half the game tonight even though we were getting dominated on the boards. 48-33. Lets sit our best rebounder. What a fantastic fricking idea.
2) Offense Philosophy. There is no offensive off the ball movement. After they run their basic offensive set once or twice, it becomes a lot of swing the ball around the perimeter with guys standing still. Rarely see off the ball screens, guys rotating positions, and cutting back door.
3) Player Progression/Talent Evaluation. Derek Fountain is year 3, he has arguably gotten worse. Mike Williams started last year, now he gets 5-8 min a game for some reason. According to recruiting rankings in 2023 we had the 10th best overall (recruit+transfer) class in the SEC, and this past offseason 6th best overall class in the SEC. Why are we 15th in the league standings?

His main problem is he is too unemotional and can't motivate the team to play above themselves. LSU basketball needs someone who is passionate on and off the court and can promote basketball. McMahon is just not that guy.
Second problem is poor judge of talent. This is true in recruiting, establishing playing time, rotations within a game and getting players from the portal.
Third problem is lack of a good offensive scheme that takes into account skills of individual players. Our players have no confidence to take a shot and often pass up good shots only to have a turnover or a desperation shot when the shot clock runs down. Point guards dribble at half court and no one cuts or makes an effective screen.
Fourth problem is lack of player development. Only Robert Miller has gotten better as the season progressed. Chest was redshirted in order to develop him and he still has not got one offensive move around the basket.

The guy doesn’t just lose he gets us treated like a rag doll at an insane clip. LSU is getting drummed by double digits more than anyone
