LSU doesn't even have to swing the bat. The guy throws balls consistently. He'll hit 3 balls before a strikeout is a threat. They should be letting him work the count then tee off when the labors after ball 3 getting the pitch they want.

To be fair, the only RBIs tonight came on first pitches but I do agree that working the count on a depleted staff would be a sound strategy.

LSU hasn’t done that in years. There is literally an unpaid assistant coaching hitters. He only has the job because the first choice blew out a knee two years ago.

Well our hitting coach completely disagrees with this philosophy so you might as well save yourself the aggravation and let it go.
