Carolinas Stadium cost about $1 million less than LSU stadium, with 2000 less seats.
Good observation. LSU could have done a whole lot more with an additional $7MM.

Like every LSU project, skimp costs at the end.
Bleacher setup at SCs is better but LSU probably thought to save a few dollars and use the old ones.

our home runs kept on hitting their city busses as their fans were leaving.
kinda made anything you think is nicer about their stadium in comparison to the box just seem kinda trashy/sad/pathetic.

That wasn't LSU's request. The left field fans specifically asked that those old bleachers be brought over.

We fill more seats and win more games in ours.

I haven't read all 4 pages, but....
If the outfield bleachers are right on top of the outfield fence, do you know how many "controversial" home run calls will be made at that park. It's an unneccessary ground rule. No instant replay in college baseball. How will you know if the ball hit the top of the fence, or the first row of the seats?

They aren't right on top....there is a gap between the wall and the start of the bleachers.....
My one gripe about the stadium, well, two gripes, I was sitting in the left field bleachers with most of the other Tiger fans, and guess what....that multi-million dollar scoreboard......YOU CAN'T SEE IT!! And, there is no other scoreboard in the stadium. Otherwise, I thought it was pretty nice.

That was annoying. Kept having to turn my head to check stuff on the scoredboard. It was a nice stadium, but I like Alex Box more. Plus our fans are much, much better!

Doesn't it kinda suck that none of USC's major sports facilities are on campus?

those are stylistic preferences, not an objective "what's better."

If you've ever been to their campus, it was built in an area that basically had no room to grow. Unlike LSU with over 2000 acres.
I also believe the City of Columbia/Fairgrounds owns and operates Williams Brice.

The campus is in the middle of downtown Columbia. It didn't matter so much when Columbia was a small village in 1801 when the University was founded. There is a definite campus, but parts of it can blend into the downtown city.
The Colonial Center is on campus, albeit on the edge of it. The campus expanded west and includes the Colonial Center, Strom Thurmond Wellness Center, and the Greek Village (brand new Fraternity and Sorority houses].
The baseball park is a few blocks further west from the Colonial Center near the river. It is walkable from the Greek Village, but not quite contiguous with the rest of the campus. There is, incidentally, enough parking, but it is more convenient to take the shuttle from the Colonial Center than to look around for private parking. I was sceptical when I heard about the shuttle service, I took the shuttle this past Sunday and it was super easy and quick.
Williams-Brice is definitely off campus, by about two miles. It is actually owned and operated by the University, not the city or fairgrounds. The State Fairgrounds are next door -- which is great for parking so long as the fair is not in town (which it was when LSU came last fall). USC has been trying to buy the fairgrounds for years, but that is not going to happen. They did just buy the Farmer's Market which is also next door. They will redevelop that area entirely which should make the whole thing a lot nicer. My guess is that when LSU comes back in 6 years, the whole area around Williams-Brice will be quite different. For one thing, the asphalt parking lot surrounding the stadium will be torn up and landscaped for pedestrians.

Who gives a shite! The Alex Box is great, I love it the way it is. It doesn't matter what anyone else got, I'll never say a baseball stadium is better than ours. Home is ALWAYS the best!

Gotcha.
I was at the game last fall. The campus is very nice. Great location in between five points and also downtown.

I'd really like to see a comparison between Cocks and Baum.
I don't see how Baum could have been passed up so quickly since its over 10,000 seats (all chairbacks) and more suites than any baseball venue in the SEC. And its all basically new.
And the RBI girls, first or second in attendance..what am I missing? What is better about Carolina's?
edit: I found some pictures of Carolina's. Its basically a smaller version of Baum. Seriously, what about it is supposedly better than Baum?

Here, I did my own:
Carolina
6400 chairbacks
5 suites/2 clubhouses
Baum
10,737 chairbacks
28 suites
Terraced right field with bbq grills (2000 cap)
Hog spa
Carolina's stadium is nice, but its no Baum.

Well, its a hot tub suite in left field you can lease to party in at games. Yeah, its funny. But I am supposing Carolina must have some pretty impressive amenities since its apparently nicer than Baum.
I say bullcock. Its not. Baum is still #1.
