Surprised but not shocked as rumors were swirling yesterday. This is a clinic by Woodward on how you handle business. Much more professional than Alleva.

Except it isnt unprecedented… It happened to Chizik at Auburn
21 months is unprecedented. Chizik lasted 23 months. Do y'all really think he didn't fact check that before he posted it?

Both parties handled the split amicably sounds like. It’s for the best.

Pretty easy to be amicable in spite of being fired with a 17 million dollar severance.

I wonder what exactly were the terms/back and forth of the negotiations referred to in the past week given that O ended up getting everything

Fickell and Aranda have to be top 2 targets imo

If you look at Woodward’s hires on paper, Aranda just doesn’t fit what he has looked for, historically.

16 total games, 8-8 as a HC

I think he’ll comb through coaches seen as unattainable, just to gauge interest.

Then hit the tier 2 of veteran coaches who he can give a small raise to that would entice them to lsu

Big hire. He has to get it right.

No upside to firing mid season.

We’ll that’s exactly what happened. The only difference is there isn’t a coach on the staff that can run the interim job either.

That’s not true at all.

I like this, and rarely agree with you. But you're assuming Pres doesn't meddle in this process and I find that impossible to believe.

If they’re shelling out the buyout without balking you have to think they have a bead on a very good coach.

This reeks of panic. As move right now after a big win over a ranked AEC team.

Problem is, where does this leave recruiting for the last 3 months?

I remember people saying this was a reason to hire O back in 2016. You don't mortgage the future on one recruiting class. It may sting a bit, but if you make the right hire, they will be able to take advantage of the transfer portal and late signing.

All we heard was that O would take a smaller buy out. Shows you can’t listen to everyone on this board.

I don’t think any claimed it was evidence for it though.

It’s just business. Nothing for or against character wise. LSU put that number on the table, so go for it.
