No, you are right. If Nuss doesn’t run more than he did last year we will falter eventually. But he knows that and has spoken about his determination to run more.

You have it backwards.

Flynn and Mauck were both better runners.

Burrow could run and was willing. But his passing ability was off the charts and that’s what killed the opposition.

Nuss doesn’t like to run. But people point to plays where he could have run and didn’t that ended in a sack or interception and ignore the ones where he didn’t run, extended the plays in the pocket and made a play downfield.

Nuss knows where his talents lie. He could probably run a little more. But it’s not something we want a lot of.

If LSU doesn’t win it won’t be because of Nuss’s mobility.

He is Kevin Costner in Untouchables
He arrested one of the most famous Ganstas in history, E Ness got him jailed on of all things Tax Evasion. He died in prison of syphillis. Ness retired from govt shortly after he downed Al Capone!

I will say looking at it the last 7 national championship qbs all had at least 200 yards rushing on the season except Mac Jones and we all know how weird that season was. Lawrence, Burrow, Bennett x2, McCarthy, Howard. I think Nuss had -34 last year for comparison.

Sure, but Joe also ran 115 times vs Nuss' 34 times.

He needs to run more.

There have been stories posted here where Nuss has talked about his development key this offseason and it was running the ball.'

I suspect you'll see a more mobile Nuss this season.

I'm not in agreement with the OP's overall point, but the two Matt's were both notable scramblers. You don't have to be Jayden Daniels to be considered a threat to run, and both of those guys could run for first downs, and were willing to do so.

Nuss will also have to be more willing to run.

Yeah, Matt and Mauck were famous for their speed, their 'zero to 60' and 'top end speed' really sealed the seasons for us
