Amidst rumblings that the Panthers will try to trade up to #1 in the draft, it appears there will be no Brady-Burrow reunion in Carolina.
quote:

With former LSU assistant Joe Brady taking over as Carolina's offensive coordinator, there has been mounting speculation that the Panthers are plotting to move up to the No. 1 pick to draft Heisman Trophy winner Joe Burrow.

But any speculation involving Carolina, Miami or any other quarterback-interested team should be quickly dispelled, because the Bengals have no intention of trading away the No. 1 draft pick, league sources familiar with the situation told ESPN.

Meaning the offers haven't been good enough so they say this.

Of course they would say that. They have to drive up the price as high as possible

But yeah they aren’t trading Burrow

The Browns could do what Mike Ditka did and announce to the world what his intentions are.

There will be deals worked up until the last minute before taking the pick on draft day.

Maybe...maybe not. If I were Cincinnati and needed as many players as they need, I would consider a trade for the right price (but it would have to be Ricky Williams type trade numbers).

They could get a couple of extra 1st round picks and still end up with a QB in this draft (or trade for a veteran).

I wouldn’t shut the barn door yet, my friend. This may just be an early negotiating ploy. The Bengals have a whole lot of holes to fill on their team, and the Panthers really just have one pressing need at QB, and their draft pick is #7. Then swapping their first round picks and the Panthers throwing in some extra picks in this draft and next year’s draft would make sense for both teams. The Bengals have Dalton, who really isn’t a bad QB, just didn’t have much of an OL to protect him this past year, and this draft have sad several other highly rated QB’s that would be there at #7.

Carolina would have to give up McCaffrey and a pick
Saints would have to give up Kamara, Thomas and multiple picks

Not happening, nor should it. Bengals would be fools

I’d personally love to see Joe in Carolina. Him and CMC together would be filthy.

We would be lucky to get a second round pick for him, he has regressed and is soft

The Panthers will get Tua if he's available. If not, it's likely they'll go for Simmons.

Burrow is Cincy’s meal ticket. They’ll fill up their usually half filled seats with the boy wonder #1 pick from the home state of Ohio. It sucks they only care about making enough money to turn a profit and not trying to win. But they’ll definitely make their profit with Burrow

Watching Burrow get through 5 reads in like 3 seconds and keeping his eyes downfield/ stepping up in the pocket while being pressured by the top defense in the nation.... I wouldn't trade that pick for ANYTHING if I'm Cincy.

The Bengals have been relevant and have spent money in our lifetime. In the mid 2000's they were legit and that injury to Palmer derailed them. Weren't awful with Andy Dalton in the early 2010's and competed for some AFC North titles.

The fanbase wants joe. Bengals take joe for ticket sales alone. Not gonna be able to buy this pick

Every pick/player has a price.

That said, the Panthers don't have enough assets to meet that price anyway, IMO. I'd just concentrate on the other QBs if I were them.
