re: Something that no one on here is talking about, next year is a complete rebuild

We need to move away from the idea that the players are student athletes and to a concept that they are free agents. We need front office and coaches that are used to the pro football model since that is the reality. The players don’t play for the school or traditions or anything other than money. They want maximum pay and to move on to the NFL.

It will take 30 million to get to 8-4

Some of us have mentioned that since pre season! It was all in this year and this year will most likely end like last year 8-4 and BK stealing $10M!
That’s the issue that I think LSU may have in its favor. The guy is actually practically stealing from LSU. He went on vacation during the bye week. He’s on the golf course more than any of us would imagine,
This is why I was so “negative” yesterday before the game when some poster said I was being a “negative Nancy spewing negative shite”
No,it’s reality. BK truly doesn’t have the fire to work very hard and it’s obvious.
It hurts my heart to see someone just ripping off the university and that’s what we’ve got. I think he’s gone at the end of the year on a negotiated buyout.

What does it say when the poorest state keeps squandering this kind of money over a kids game? It's embarrassing, give it up already.
I don’t think the state is paying for any of this. But if you have some inside info, please share it.

Very few teams in FBS returned more than 6-10 starters from last year. A complete rebuild each season is pretty much the new norm in the modern landscape. Not sure if schools can afford what they are going to pay for kids for just one season.

Ehh, i beg to differ. People saying complete rebuild. That's really only on defense. Offensively at least 5 OL return with legit starting experience (Davis, Chester, Mubenga, Echols, Adams), and i expect that they are going to start playing Curne more. We'll also have former 5 star RS freshman Thomas in the fold.
If he doesn't transfer, Nic Anderson returns and the beast Trey Dez returns. They might even use him as a starting WR, and start Donovan Green at TE. I also 100% believe Taron Francis starts for LSU next year at WR. We may get 1 WR in the portal for experience.
All the RBs return.
MVB is starting at QB next year, or we go all out for a transfer.

Oh good all of our worst players are returning. Can’t wait for everyone on here to tell me that Chester and Mubenga are good offensive linemen again like they did this year.

Hell yeah. He’s been great.

Oh good. He’s shown a lot this year.

If we only get 1 WR from the portal that’ll be a problem.

We are losing a ton of players on defense, but in my opinion the only critical losses are Delane and Gooden. The secondary should be OK with Pickett, Woodland, Spears, and perhaps Cooley. The defensive line has a lot of young interior players, but I do not know how good they are. I think Whit Weeks returns , and players such as Singleton, Ross, Jimcoily, Keys, and Moses have to develop.
The offense will continue to suffer unless some of our young lineman show great improvement. Hopefully, Moore returns. The wide receiver group will be OK, and I would switch Green to WR on a permanent basis. Our tight end group is terrible. QB is an obvious concern. It will be interesting.

Guys I like Coach Baker, and I realize they had some critical injuries but he has to be able to do better against running Qb’s because that's about 80% of them now. If the new HC wants to keep him zero problem with that.
My point is that we are still 3 years from competiting for a Championship. 4 years in and not an inch closer.
Look you baws in Batom Rouge know what's going on here, I just here the rumors but frick it, (chicken please don't ban me)
The Mfering Truth
Former players have aleady told you the feeling around LSU is different, the work effort seems off. In the past when current players would work out with our vast army of players in the NFL this is no longer encouraged or allowed, depending on who u talk too. This maybe the CBK way but it's not the LSU way. Do you think our receivers could use some help catching the ball with thr best receivers in the world.
Let's be honest are not the machine, the empire, we are the rebels, we are the family. That's why so much of America loves us. We are emotional anti empire team that may not always be great but will always fight to the bitter end and when we are good we are fricking as good or better than anyone who ever played the fricking game. We play with passion and emotion, or at least we did.

The answer for me is either do it rip the bandage off or don’t do anything until next year. Since we are likely keeping Kelly at least another year give him a modest but respectable NIL budget. Do not allow him to revamp the offensive staff. No buyouts or replacements. He is stuck with his coaches as we are firing him next year anyway. We are just lowering his buyout.

CBK doesn’t get any of this and never will. He is Bebe without the binder, passion, or love of LSU. He is Les Miles without the love, passion, and work effort. Players used to talk about how the practices were five times tougher than the games. Les may have overdone it, and Bebe adjusted to make it through the long seasons, and it worked. They both were hardworking winners (except for that season).
CBK's practices are legendary poor, and his teams are constantly soft and unprepared for big games, thus the derisive nickname “Big Game Bryan.” He is more interested in his golf game and throwing players under the bus than working to get ready. He has effectively already retired. His hunger is for golf tips and a burger and fries on the 19th hole rather than for championships. Fish rot from the head first, and you lead by example. His message to his players is clear. He is the exact opposite of Jay Johnson and Nick Saban and the results are predictable.
If this is ok with you and you don't care if LSU ever competes for anything ever again and are ok with getting beat by Bama by 30 points that's ok, just admit it. You are a causal or social fan, it is all just for kicks for you. That's ok.
But if each and every loss really hurts, you feel every sack and missed tackle and no matter how hard you try it ruins not only your weekend but the next week when they get their arse kicked by Vanderbilt. When your wife tells you to just stop watching the game you make everyone miserable when they lose, and you would trade a few years off your life for another championship, then you are a diehard LSU fan.
If so then CBK is not, and will never ever be acceptable. He has literally sucked all the joy out of LSU football, not by losing but the way his teams play the game. Without passion, joy, and often effort. Just like CBK. Be sure to say hello to him on the course today.

We have people seriously talking about spending $150-200 MILLION spread out over a decade to fire the coach! Nine figures of debt hanging over LSU's head for 10 years with no guarantee you aren't faced with a $200 million buyout when the next guy falls flat in three years?
It’s not state money and it’s not taxpayer money. It’s not mine or yours. If they have big money boosters that want to spend it what do I care
I hope they do, but let’s not pretend like we have the choice of paying BKs buyout or like funding schools or hospitals.

Jimbo was Title winning coach
Kelly was winningrst all time coach at ND
Not exactly unproven coaches
Just didn’t work

I don’t understand why people think this way.
