Look man, I hope you’re right. I guess I’ve just never seen a fan advocate for the team he is a fan of to double or triple the price of tickets..

From your own link
"It does not include athlete revenue share payments".

It also doesn’t include NIL payments which lsu baseball dominates in

Jay has more money to work with than every program in the country except maybe 2 or 3 others. It's beginning to sound less like he "needs" more money and moreso like he's just butthurt that LSU won't appease his every demand.

I mean if you're tripling $4 to get to $12, yeah I'd say most people can absorb that.
Are people paying $4 for SEC game tickets directly from LSU?

Y’all think that’s holding LSU back? Get real. Jay has an angle, but revenue sharing goes straight to players, not he program. $23k isn’t preventing us from landing any player we covet with the millions in NIL available to baseball each season.

Well, Skip Bertman got tired of trying to appease every demand from Nick Saban. How did that work out?
Yes, Nick was probably leaving for NFL anyway....but still

We still don't know how many scholarships are being funded for baseball. It may not only be rev share related.

Let's not sit here and act like losing Nick Saban and potentially losing Jay Johnson are even remotely comparable situations.

Everyone ripped into me for asking about how the increased financial commitments to football and basketball could affect our baseball program...well, here we are.

I don't have baseball tickets currently, but I'm talking about non-SEC games. Looks like for SEC games this season, grandstand tickets are around $18 average per game.
Even just bumping that up to $25 a game for SEC games would bring in an extra $426,000 for the grandstand tickets alone. That's a lot of cash for college baseball.

quote:That’s a different ball of wax than all the posters harping on revenue sharing specifically and how the distribution is unfair to baseball. My contention has always been revenue sharing is a drop in the bucket in the overall scheme of things. Baseball is never getting 30,40,50% and giving Baseball the WBB 5% share really wouldn’t move the needle at all.

Yep, here we are with one of the best funded programs in the country and that doesn't even include our NIL which is also nation leading.
Terrible situation to be in.

Jay needs to help raise those funds, and that is part of his poor mouthing that sets all of the posters off. Gymnastics raised millions and if WBB can raise a million for a fancy locker room then baseball should be able to raise millions since there are so many fans. Right?

This.
Unfortunately math doesn't seem to be a strong point on the Rant.

If I recall correctly, some local media have suggested that we're not at the top of roster funding. That being said, some other schools are much more motivated and desperate for national relevance than we are, see Texas and A&M.

It seems like you and I are talking about two different things. We were originally talking about tripling ticket prices and how you said most people can afford it. Now you are talking about raising certain ticket prices for certain tickets for certain games by 39%. Those are two very different things.
Posted on 4/1/26 at 5:07 pm to LSBoosie
You don't have to do a 300% increase across the board. $4 to $12 for non-SEC games, $18 to $25 for SEC games. If money is short, I don't see anyway around that besides sponsorships or raising ticket prices.
