Some 20 years ago I can still hear Nick Sabans describing this fanbase

The sky is still falling around here. Every bit of negative news always results in the sky is falling for some reason. That was 20 years ago and it is still true today.

The brook trout syndrome was when the team was getting skull fricked by a better team and used that term the first time they played Florida.

He mentioned LSU fans tendency to have the "catastrophe syndrome" when something bad happens.

Nick Saban wasn’t describing this fanbase; he was describing human nature.

20 years ago he was leaving for nfl en route to being a major thorn in our side at Bama so I guess we were right to have catastrophic syndrome

No, he wasn't. He made the Catastrophe syndrome comments before he ever won a natty at LSU.

We've won 2 NCs since he said that. Our fans high maintenance bleeding vaginas for the most part.

I keep seeing posts saying that everyone is melting, but is that true? I think most realize that losing Denbrock isn’t ideal but it’s also not the end of the world.

Have you heard the way he describes the Alabama fans?

Everyone is does this. Michigan Sate fans didn’t like it when we took Saban. ND fans had a hissy fit when we poached Kelly.

One thing’s for sure. Trying to shame fans into behaving maturely hasn’t worked for years. Don’t try.

I Agee. Being on Tiger Droppings is enduring one paper cut after another, but you keep coming back for the few cogent and thoughtful comments.

A lot of fans have raging insecurity. We lose a game, and the program is a disaster.
They don't look at our own program with pride, they fixate on how it compares to someone else.

Saban pointed that out. And he proceeded to build LSU into a national power, because despite all the panicked fans, LSU is fortunate enough to have a recruiting base that can produce a champion, if properly utilized- even if everyone else is on their game too.

That's the thing about LSU, it shouldn't focus on other programs.

If the fan base was so bad. He shouldn’t have been that excited to leave Michigan state.

He didn't find that out until after he left. And it's gotten worse.

I’m old enough to have experienced the HIGHEST OF HIGHS in 1958, soon followed by 1961 and Jerry Stovall. Then Paul Deitzel left unexpectedly for his “dream job” at Army. For me, it left a feeling that just when everything seemed so good, that something can change it all in a heartbeat.

And this year Nick talked bad about the Bama fan base.

About the only non-critical fan base I can think of is the Faggies. Everything is wonderful there for five and a half years, then they fire the coach and return to wonderland for another five and a half years.

Fans bitch, complain, speculate, and are schizophrenic. It’s their right.

Yeah, Bama fans never freak out when they lose...

I seem to remember everyone, after we beat them, including Finebaum, saying it is time for Nick to step down.
