I'm sure Cortana was just a suggestion, but there are plenty of places on the major traffic corridors that make sense - south off I-10, somewhere off I-12, and across the bridge off I-10. It would be easy to do and makes sense.
but you can't fix BR traffic overall, 40 years of non-planning made it was it is. Terrible.

shuttle buses hold, what, 20 people. 100,000 people at the game. that's 5,000 trips. sounds workable.
the only mass transportation that could possibly work is a train. actually, multiple trains that could load up and get people to multiple locations right after the game (thus spreading out the traffic from the car lots). of course this would cost billions.
traffic is a bitch after large sporting events. there are only so many roads. there really is no practical solution. I also just wait at my vehicle and leave late.

You choose to end your silence with this?

Not that far and that's part of the solution. It puts those people who choose to do it far away from the TS traffic with multiple routes home.
What a random choice of location.

40 years my arse. longer than that. baton rouge refused to pass bond issues to improve traffic at least 50 years ago. woody dumas didn't believe in borrowing money. in fairness, the river hurts any traffic flow. but a river expressway was needed a long, long time ago. of course, highland road residents couldn't allow that now could they.

How about a river shuttle to west bank to a parking lot. Ferry there arse across

How about the police actually do something to help with the traffic flow. They have streets blocked that have no reason being blocked and do nothing to help direct traffic. It's a lot worse than it has to be !

The traffic thing is overblown IMO. We park on highland just a block or two from Barcadia and I’m walking in the door of my house in Lafayette in less than an hour. I don’t know wtf the rest of you tards are doing, and I sure as shite would never wait to load up on a bus to drop me to and from Cortana mall.

The answer has been right in front of our noses for many years.
Train Tracks.
May have to add another track or two between Lauberge and downtown so you could run two trains (one from Lauberge and one from downtown). May be able to get by with one train. No traffic issues to deal with other than pissing off vehicles on Brightside but they are pissed any way.

The shuttle would be stuck in traffic after the game too numbskull.

No. The traffic would be much better if LSU & BRPD actually stuck to the same contraflow plan each game and focused on parking lot exiting.

CATS used to offer this exact service to downtown and westmoreland shopping center, it was not profitable. I actually used it for Tebows last game in TS, my son was young and had a soccer game , so we were not going out til later. From what I recall we had a police escort there and back to westmoreland and got picked up/dropped off at the tiger cage, worked perfectly and our bus was full.

You lucky if all you get is robbed. There is a good chance you might get shot around there

shuttle service from Cortana mall
1) No way in fricking hell I'm leaving my vehicle at fricking Cortana Mall. You know how many break-ins would occur?
2) It's also entirely too far away

This is not an option....its way to far from south baton rouge

Id rather both of these:
1- train to downtown BR or the casinos- hell even New Orleans is a possibility. Cost of a small spur may be prohibitive, but it seems a short one right by old Alex box would work.
2- Park on West side of River, and Barge people (booze cruise?) to near the vet school.
A landing at the end of Skip Bertman drive would be awesome.
Both would get more cars out of the immediate area.

Nothing like tailgaiting in Cortana Mall parking lot !!! Sounds like fun.

This is how they did it in Syracuse when we went there. It was great, shuttles running all day and we got back to our vehicle in no time after the game.
They should do this from the hayfield lot.

They did this in the late 60s early 70s. Bon marshe mall I think. Worked great for us kids. Just had parents drop us off.

They used to do shuttle right. 12-15yrs ago, they had a deal with CATS for $10/person from different spots around town. I used the Walmart on Siegen. Buses dropped you off at Alex Box and picked you up on N Stadium in front of PMAC.
The buses had a police escort out after the game. Police would take the buses up Nicholson to downtown against the incoming traffic. It took less than 30 minutes to get from campus back to Siegen.
