re: So...Jamarr Chase sits out and per McShay and Kiper will still go in the Top 5.

If my kid was a guaranteed top 10 pick in the draft, especially with the Covid thing/new QB, I would probably encourage him to sit out the year. He was a major part of an LSU national championship. Crazy how a lot of you shite on him now for making the intelligent decision (before the season even started).

Chase made best decision for himself. IMO he made the right decision, he was not going to put up numbers nowhere near last year. All the players that left via draft, Brady, covid, and so on.

You think I’m going to miss out on twenty five million because of an injury for the sake of the team ?
The comments come from the privileged, you ever lived on public housing, get tired of seeing rats and roaches, eating what you can scrounge on .
Your coach is making five million because of you and this is how you live .

Go back to his 2019 film vs CB's that went in the first two rounds of the 2020 NFL Draft.
He physically abused almost every CB last year besides MSU's Dantlzer. That list includes guys like Bama's Diggs, Florida's Henderson, and Clemson's Terrell.
Chase really had nothing to prove this year. Especially in a year where SEC Defenses were nowhere close to their norm on star power besides Alabama's Surtain.

People on this board were swearing up and down that Marshall was going to go ahead of Chase in this draft when Chase originally opted out.

No surprises here. Chase is the best WR prospect in a few years. Just so strong.
If he turns it on and works his arse off at the next level mastering the technicalities, he's an alpha at the receiver position. He's super difficult to get a comparison for though. His strength is next level.

Looks like he made a smart decision!!

We beat MSU & Mizzou with Chase, we probably retain Pelini. I’m glad he sat out.

He will NOT be taken in top 5. Historically, WR's never are. He may be taken in the top 10 and won't be the 1st WR drafted.

Jamarr Chase exemplified what it truly means to wear the #7
ETA: and by that I mean he quit.

Nope! Not after opting out. You need to earn that.

Not the same as opting out midseason.
Not playing due to COVID19 concerns and health concerns, the lack of long term effects.... and making your decision before the season = opting out.
Weeks and several games into the season and it's not going as you as a player expected... and you decide to leave = quitting.

The only reason Chase’s draft stock would drop is if he just sat on his couch the past 8 months. If he was actively training the whole time, I could probably make the argument that his stock could’ve improved bc he could’ve gotten faster/stronger in his time away.
Chase has all of the football skill boxes checked. To my knowledge, he has no character red flags. Plus now he has several months of non contact training that should have his body in top shape.
Chase didn’t forget how to play football by skipping the season and NFL couldn’t care less if he skipped on his college team to train. Hell his own teammates probably understood. It was just the fans who were mad at him.

The era of the two-year player is officially here for college football.
Any junior or two-year player that feels they have a shot an early round draft choice will begin sitting out or playing only until their team is out of national title contention.

If he goes top 5, no question.
He needs to work out well though. I want to see what he runs in the 40.

This is NOT going to set a good precedent.
Why do y'all act as if this is not a business decision. People do things everyday all day that are in their best interest, but some how these individuals who have the ability to capitalize off their talents should be held to a different standard? He has the ability to make millions upon millions of dollars and he should jeopardize that because some fan will call him a quitter? Yea ok

He played for LSU. I’d be okay with him going #1 overall

Lol at all the people downvoting the "Chase is about ME, and not Team" comment. Y'all think he loves this team so much, that he just.... what? Wants to see the younger guys get reps? What a team player.

We are downvoting because you are an idiot. Nobody is arguing the fact that Chase left to protect his potential NFL salary and selection in the draft. You sound like a fricking retard holler'n about "hE nOT a tEaM pLAya". 2019 Jamar was the ultimate team player and not it is time for him to put himself first. It would to be the most asinine business decision to risk 10s of millions of dollars over a career just so he can have an idiot like you praise him for being a team player and playing a season that does not mean shite.
