Beth Miles has to go. Program is stagnant and only getting worse.

Mental. We’ve convinced ourselves it’s ok to be mediocre. Too damn comfortable with.500 and making a regional. Piss on being better than everyone else.

LSU softball can’t hit good pitching.
There’s a surprise.

Oh I agree. The softball program is actively working to make this the new norm. “Oh, the SEC is so tough! Good teams finish .500!”

Scott Woodward is not stupid. I have to believe as he sits at his desk and ruminates over his morning coffee, that he’s had specific thoughts of: “Man, what shape will softball be in starting next year when Texas and Oklahoma come aboard?”

Yes, I am probably in the “rip the bandaid off” crowd. But here’s my objective prediction. This team will likely host a Regional. If they make a Super Regional, Woodward is not making a change in 2023. He may be a season slower than most of us, but he is likely thinking of optics. And to him, there’s probably no rush, with as good as the big picture looks overall with LSU athletics.

If I had to try to read SW’s mind, I think he knows Beth’s and this staff’s ceiling is losing a Super Regional. Yes, he could insist Beth give Dobson his pink slip, but that doesn’t seem Scott’s style.

Whether I agree with it, I think Scott decides to wait for Texas and Oklahoma to join and waits for the resultant further slippage of this program with Beth in charge before he makes a move. I don’t see Beth being fired before the Monday morning after the 2024 season ends.
