So why offer Les when you can offer Saban?

The offer is 100% legit. Officials from both sides are denying for obvious reasons. But Long has Michigan ties and is close to Les. And Jerry Jones thinks the world of Les. The offer was intended to be an offer that Miles couldn't refuse. This is NOT a way to get more money from LSU. Its not Les' style. Ive been told that Les will counter the offer and if they match his number than he will take the arkansas job. The wheels have been in motion since last Thursday.

I'm not convinced that Miles was ever offered the Michigan job. It looked to me that there was a group that wanted him, but Lloyd Carr torpedoed the deal.

As much as I have one foot on Les' bandwagon , I cannot see any more pay raises for him just because some other team comes after him. Alleva already did this withh the so-called Michigan coming after him and that raise and renogotiation of a contract I can agree with but just to keep raising the bar every time another team decides to come knocking , I just cant agree with that. Not that my in put matters to the powers to be at LSU. JMO.

Hate to dignify this thread with a serious response, but at this point and age in a high profile career such as Miles, I would have to think any moves are more ego driven than money driven. Why would anyone ego (and money driven,) leave the LSU gig to go to Deliverance land? As long as he doesn't Sandusky out on us, he writes his own ticket in this state.

Thinking I should probabaly keep mouth shut, but at least some of what Random is saying may be accurate. Dunno about the amount of money, but as far as Ark making a run for Miles may be true. I made a call to someone who would know.

Couldn't confirm 100%, but close.

My only issue with all of this and Miles is that immediately after Smith was fired Ark AD was boasting that they would have their new coach in place within 10 days. IF they did target Miles back then, I could see someone thinking money is all it would take to get the man they wanted....but I don't think Miles is that kind of man. Being at Mich was more important to him than money and he passed that up because only one other thing is more important than that and that is his own integrity and commitment to his family.

I hear what Random is saying he knows for sure and what my contact says he is very confident about, but something in me still finds this hard to believe. Maybe I just like Les too damn much.

Man it would really suck ito lose him, so until I see something that says 100% I choose to be in denial.

If he leaves, you know they'll be a lot of people blaming it on TD

Definitely. It was the evil Interwebz! If the anonymous posters on a board Miles never frequented would have been nicer, he would have stayed.

Tough to recruit in Arkansas. Les would do well with snagging a 4 star here and there but I couldn't see overall sustained success. Money talks though.

Random - can you email the rs scoop? Would that be something you'd be willing to share?

If so
