This board is either full of trolls or there are quite a few posters that lack the muster of true men of character. If you can’t see that the obvious cheater has to be let go and the program needed a reset, than you are just blind to the true state of things in the basketball program.

What could he tell you, or provide in tangible information, that would make you agree with his decision to relieve Wade of his duties?

I doubt he has lost many of the LSU fans. He lost a bunch of Orgeron and Wade fans. I'm an LSU fan first so he hasn't lost me and I saw no alternative to firing Will Wade that was P&G glasses fairy tale thinking.

am curious if the administration will ever be fully transparent on the reasons to let Wade go.

I thought they were but what do I know.

That’s absurd. Maybe the retarded fan base. I think he handled the situation about as good as it could have been handled.

I'm not sure how to tell you, but sports has been filled with cheaters since sports began

Sports and character have rarely gone together

It's not just that he cheated but it's pretty clear he lied to his boss when he lawyered up and cut a new employment deal a few years back. Lying to your boss, particularly on an ethics issue, will get you fired every time.

Really? you don't think he could have avoided making payoffs with his personal checks?

I will let next season's attendance dictate the answer to that question.

For the basketball program, yes.

For the athletic department, no.

Also, if attendance is down by 2,000... is that really huge so far as "the fan base"?

People are just pissed that we've lost the basketball team to the portal as well as all WW's recruits. Wade is/was a crappy coach, so with all the talent, we'd still be a frustrating team to watch and would never get far in the tourney.

Kim, JJ & BK to replace the ignorant ogre in football are all huge upgrades, and Matt seems to be a very good coach as well. I don't understand the dislike for Woody. Just shows how ignorant posters/fans can be.

Letting the team find out via Twitter wasn’t as good as you could unless you put the bar on the ground for one of us Scotty to jump over.

There are things that would make me turn my back on my university…firing a basketball coach is no where close to making that list. If that does it for you, then LSU hasn’t given you anything close to what it has given me in my life, and it has very little to do with sports.

Woodward never had me. Especially after he lit up Tiger Stadium in Saint George Floyd’s high school’s colors.

Not sure how to tell you this but your response shows the basis of your character. You can accept that it was cheating and move on or find that you accept underachieving low character actions as the norm.

Question to throw out there for those of you that are in favor or the WW firing. What is the reason, in your eyes, that he should have been fired? Was it because of the cheating? Or maybe it’s how he cheated? Or some other reason.

Doesn't matter until after football season. If Brian Kelly does well, no one will care because football is good again. If Brian Kelly doesn’t do well, no one will care because football still stinks.
That’s reality. Basketball can’t be an embarrassment. They decided that in the case of WW the juice isn’t worth the squeeze because in 6 months no one will really care anymore. And it may help keep the Football team from any sanctions.

Well, it is alleged he cheated but the main thing is Will Wade agreed that if Level 1 sanctions were levied against him and the university that it was reason for dismissal. They were and he was dismissed.

Need I go on.

The entire OP is based on unsubstantiated opinion and not any facts at all. It's more likely that most LSU fans know that Wade had to be fired. It's far more likely that only a small percentage of Ranters are "lost" on Woodward. But then, they never "found" him and this is just another reason for them to rant.

What reason does the OP and these Ranters not understand? Wade cheated and lied and was, frankly, brazenly stupid about it!

He put LSU in a very bad position, one he created.

But, IF he was winning, he could have survived. Fact is, he wasn't winning. Not even with great "recruiting" with his personal checkbook.

So, LSU could keep a coach who still wasn't winning anything of note and likely take a bigger hit from the NCAA or they could fire that coach and likely get a much smaller penalty for taking steps to correct the problem he created.

For a substantial percentage of people, this obvious. For a few Ranters, it is not.
