If the data centers are so great, why have the politician signed NDA’s so no one knows the behind the scene details?

It is standard practice. And politicians have to be involved, because govt is needed to land these deals. No one is out to get you because they signed a nda. They will screw you with or without it if that is their intent.

How about asking META to use some of those tax break dollars to become our brand sponsor? The state is only giving them billions upon billions of dollars in breaks…
What a dumb way to think......

you can’t keep asking donors to front 50 million dollar rosters, buyouts, facility upgrades, and pay for basketball and baseball without seeing any return whatsoever.
I agree with you about the boosters, but this is a bandaid in an attempt to stop the bleeding. At some point there's no more future to sell off for today...you just have to stop spending like money is no object.
BK and McMahon definitely needed to go from a competitiveness standpoint, but now it puts us in a compromising financial position.

Don't you mean Beignet Investor, LLC? They are the shell company that is building the facility and taking on a majority of the financial risk (debt) and keeping the Richland construction costs off of Facebook's balance sheet.

Sounds pretty similar to the disastrous idea FIFA just had to sell portions of the World Cup in that manner.
Everyone possible hated the idea, for obvious reasons. Private equity or "investment funds" ruin absolutely everything.

Nothing about money? OK, right.

At least now donors can have a way to get something in return and treat it more like an investment than just a donation

Landry has handled LSU well and he'll continue to do so because he knows how important it is for the state and the people here. That will be what people remember come election time and that's his political win to keep him in office. Fail at everything else but make sure he gets the one thing always on Louisiana people's mind sorted. At least he didn't mess this up.

Correct. LSU donors already get big wins off LSU. Take a look at who supplies LSU's energy on campus and the donor for example...

Greg Williams of Acrisure is a Michigan State guy. Him and his wife have given Michigan State $401 million. Don’t trust giving this guy the keys to the kingdom. No bueno.

Landry knows he can get re-elected running off of LSU
