And yet the consensus on TD is that the offensive coordinator sloan needs to go, and that baker is some genius that is going to put it together with all these new players.
Delusional fans don't realize our defense was bad all year

Have you actually watched our defense the last few years before he came here?

Now do where each unit was last year. This is a terrible take. Baker took over a dumpster fire and made them serviceable with the same dudes, he significantly improved that unit and we created more negative plays and turn overs. Sloan was fine and I don’t understand the intense hate for him, but he has to get better with red zone play calling and we have to find a run game.

I beleive most of us said we needed to be top 60 to see an improvement from the 110+ we had.

That’s an improvement, guy.

Sloan just needs a running game to work with. He'll be fine. He wasn't working with the caliber of receivers as the years prior, either.

Baker improved a horrible defense from the year prior without two leaders for almost the whole season. 56 honestly was about the best you could seriously hope for. He was never going to field a top 25 defense with the holes we still had on defense.

Keep them both. They'll do just fine. I know people hate Sloan for some reason, but some of the same people wanted Jayden Daniels benched for two seasons.

I just can't excuse the texas a& m game.
There are high school coaches That could have made better adjustments than that

Going back many years, National Champs have been in top 15 in pts/game. Just a different game now.

The defense outplayed the offense given the talent. In fact several players developed into NFL level prospects by the end of this year.

Whereas most of the offensive players regressed or stayed the same. Nussmeier looked like a freshman rather than a 4th year player with some game experience

This is a pretty good example at simplistic thinking and why you should take the opinion of your average LSU fan worth a grain of salt.

The offense helped the total defense rankings by finishing 12th nationally in time of possession. In yards allowed per play, the defense improved but still finished 88th nationally.

There is so much wrong with this take that I don’t even know where to begin.

If we were 56th last year, we probably go undefeated.

Baker did a helluva job in 2024.

I’m still more disappointed in the Bama game. You had two weeks to put a plan together to limit Milroe’s running. He was held under 20 yards rushing in four games and they lost 3 of those 4. Milroe had his biggest game all year running the ball against LSU and exceeded the rushing yards that he had in the ‘23 matchup.

Now do scoring, red zone %, 3rd and 4th down success rate. How about efficiency and yards per play?

Sloan had no rhythm at all in his calling, especially in the red zone. There was no adjustments once the game got going.

Baker >>> Sloan
