Its not the record people are aggrivated with, its the fact that we were out coached in damn near every game and would have lost 3 more if not for our talent leading us to the win. We beat not one top 25 team and didnt dominate not one team.

I am loving it. Enjoyed the season. LSU football makes me happy unlike other miserable people on this board.

9-3 is simply not acceptable to me

I'm certain it's not acceptable to the players, as well. Many of those guys say 10-3 isn't acceptable, but it's encouraging that they really want to dominate another bowl game, not just for the seniors but for themselves, the guys coming back & the recruits. And, of course, the fans.

And not just the die-hards who deserve street-cred (and you get it from me, too) for supporting LSU for so damn long. Just don't always expect everyone else to feel exactly how you do if they weren't born yet or didn't attend LSU until recently. We can co-exist (at the games, anyway...).

Look, 9-3 is what it is, and a solid bowl win over a Big-10 team in Fla. gives us a 2-win improvement, which is big in the SEC w/all the obstacles LSU faced just last yr. and this season.

Also, beating Iowa or Paterno St. will help for next yr., when Miles and his staff has to put up or shut up, 'cos the fan base (not just on the Rant) just isn't as forgiving as it used to be.

First, gotta hit a home-run with a new OC, Porter's replacement & a few others. Get all QBs ready (& w/the OL especially) and get them to improve or replace them.

Probably a thread in itself, but I think LSU needs to get a JC transfer w/enough skills in case (or when) JJ goes down--even for a game or 2--so they don't have to rely on a young guy w/out experience like Garrett (whom I like, anyway), or RS (whom they have decided can't play QB) and certainly never J. Lee).

There's so much to do, but that's why Miles get the big bucks. But every team has to fix this or that, replace so-and-so, etc., but LSU has enough talent and time to do it.

As a Fla. fan, I implore you to please beat 'Bama again Saturday (and having no more starters arrested would help...), and then destroy McCoy & Texas. Please.

I just want to be clear. You'll take 9-3 with no SECCG every year with a $3.8 mil coach?

Maybe I should have said I'll take 9-3 over 7-5. I'm satisfied with the record for this year.

I'll take 9-3 as a minimum amount of wins, occasionally winning the SEC and rarely winning a NC.

I think most of us could live with this.

Define these in terms of years.

There is a difference between a competitive 9-3 and an ugly 9-3. IMO

I will also leave you with a thought - if LSU was consistently outgained in each game yet still managed to continually win... doesn't this say something positive about the quality of coaching?
No, it speaks directly to the talent covering for the inadequacies of the coach.

So were you even a fan in the early 90's when we were lucky to be 3-9?

This argument is ridiculous. Were those coaches making over 3 mil a year? Was anywhere near the facilities we have now? Was there anywhere near the national appeal, attention, and criticism if things go awry? This is not 1990. Quit trying to make excuses why a top 10 program shouldn't be playing like a top 10 program.

That is good for 2 SOPH QBs, you can't ask for more. Next year with JR QBs we could go 10-2. Tough schedule opening up with UNC then both FL and TN, then UWV and of course AL and AU,and those pesky AR and MISS.

The defense got better, and we stopped the INT's. Other than that, the coaching, play calling, points scored, big plays, excitement, player development, yards gained, and individual awards of players are all WORSE.

Parcells says "You are who your record says you are" no better no worse. Our record is better than last year. We are better

No way. That is elite money, I'm ok with 9-3 THIS year, we still weren't over the Perrilloux thing, next year is different. We have a QB with a full season under his belt, a good DLine returning, and a great secondary. Miles must win the SEC West next year.

That's because stupid people are usually more vocal than smart people.

It's nice that so many of you are such unselfish fans that you are happy when the record is not terrible even if throughout the year we sucked for the most part and never improved.
After all, all that matters is that people who don't watch LSU football will think we must have been good to go 9-3.
Miles could last here forever simply by recruiting well, since you people don't demand any kind of actual coaching of the recruits.

We are about to play a big time program in penn state who would love to have the success weve had over the past 6 years. Im looking forward to it.

So when he had a losing season it was an "easy out"

you can feed statistics all you want but the simple fact is we have a much better record than last year. We are a better TEAM. We may be worse in certain areas but the great thing about this game of football is its not only played with one of offense defense or special teams its played with all them and this years TEAM is better. Im not trying to say this was an amazing year. We should be 10-2. The coaches screwed us against Ole Miss and shouldnt be let off the hook for that. However to say we are the same or worse than last year is asinine.

However a very unexciting 9-3. aside from the Auburn game and the end of the Georgia game, our wins have been uneventful.
