So it's a trade? Calzada for Johnson brothers and a player to be named later?

This has turned college football into an embarassment...

Whats the point of today when in two months any one of them can up and pack bags for wherever.... its actually WORSE than free agency bc theres literally nothing binding anyone to any place. Its total horsehit and has ruined the best sport on the planet

And is still allowing Alabama to violate the rules governing the number of coaches by calling them "analysts."

I doubt he would sniff a start over the current qbs lsu has on Scholly including walk ons. Max Johnson would definitely start at aggie College there.

If the players want to be professionals, hire agents, get NIL deals, then its time to make them sign contracts. Imagine the NFL with no contracts; Just a free-for-all. It just doesn't work.

“The portal has ruined college sports”

You can thank Justin Fields, his attorney and their bogus story to him get out of GA and transfer to OSU. That transfer changed everything because before Fields you either had to be a graduate transfer or sit out one year.

You would have to make scholarships 4 year then instead of year to year. Then how does that affect other sports? What a mess

Calzada is a perfect option for an experienced backup for next season. Have Nuss start with him for the backup and let Howard redshirt and get stronger.

We could probably use two transfer QBs.

And he did throw for 285 yards and have 3 TDs against Bama in Jimbo's biggest win at aTm. We could have used that kind of production against Bama. So he has shown that he can be pretty good against a top-level team. He was inconsistent though. Max had better numbers than him this year.

I find it amazing how people want to trap players in what could be a bad situation, but would completely bristle if the same happened to them in their job.

So you recruit players in high school for 3-4 years to play for 4 possibly 5 years at your school, then they Leave in 1 or 2 years.. why recruit then.. just see what’s left every year in the portal and just go with that..if your NIL deal ain’t good enough then transfer to one that is… free agency in college sports, who would have ever thought …

I don't get that vibe from most here in these discussions, I think it's the disgust with the lack of a commitment to honoring your word and the ease of which these spoiled, disgruntled, impatient teenagers can flit around from school to school with no consequence to them, of course the schools have a hand in the sleaziness of all of this too
