Every week we get bombarded with the "THIS IS A MUST WIN GAME" statement for Brian Kelly or he's on the hot seat.

Since there no such thing as a "Must Lose" game and "YOU PLAY TO WIN THE GAME!" Every game is a must win!.

anyone that says that is dumb AF, but if we want to make the playoffs, have to split the next two and win the rest. do that and there is 80% + chance you make sec cg based on tie breakers

No it’s not. The ultimate goal for every team, for every coach, is to win Championships. That can be accomplished by winning every game, but it is not required. Being undefeated is not a necessary condition for winning a championship (in college or pro). Therefore, every game is not a “must win” to accomplish your goal.

When you lose the first game, each game thereafter become must win by default

When you lose the opening game of the season, expect every game of the year to be a must win.
