Ohhh! THought the Hat handled it well and showed a lot of class. NP for Andrews as far as LSU concerned. They do need to take away the old gezzer's press pass.

SOOO what's the problem? She was interviewed in a non-sport magazine. Do you believe that since she works at ESPN she should only be allowed to comment on sports?

If you're in the media, you can't just write whatever you want with no repercussions. If she wants to do that she should quit and be a blogger.

I don't have a problem with what she wrote, I actually thought it was a good piece but no one is going to think she is anything more than eye candy on a sports network if she writes like this.

I hadnt heard that espn had said anything about it. All I heard was that EA heard about it, sent Michael Bonnette an upity txt message about "should i be concerned", he tried to call her, she wouldnt take his calls.

She is a national sports "reporter" and he is the sports information director of one of the top programs in the country

I think you're interpreting "should I be concerned" differently than she intended. I'm sure it was more along the lines of "should I be concerned that I'm going to be a top story on the news because some old perv said something pervy" rather than "concerned for her safety."

Bottom line is that he made a ridiculously sexist comment about a seriously invasive crime where she was a victim. Les handled it like a pro. But it was still asked, and for Andrews, it brings back all those awful feelings that she's probably worked very hard to forget.

They didnt think it was funny... yet its ok for her to write this?

That is a sponsored column by Gillette. You think she had anything to do with it other than sign her name to it? It's a razor commercial, and one that ESPN probably brought to her. You're fricking stupid not to see a difference between a BS fluff piece about the kind of guy she's looking for and being okay with some a-hole filming her naked through a peep hole. Jesus.

Not the kind of publicity that LSU needs.

However it seems that Erin Andrews is blowing it out of proportion.

The guy is 86, she should be laughing this off and moving on.

And that's uppity? If I were Andrews my text would have been along the lines of "Hey, Bonnette: keep a fricking muzzle on your senile octogenarian retired sports writers. I've worked for a year to forget about this and I'm not coming back to Baton Rouge if you people can't grow up"

I thought so. It sounded like Bonnette tried to reach out to her after she initially stirred the pot.

Is it really that big of a deal? Gees

What do you expect when an attractive woman is in a business that happens to be dominated by men?
Ea needs to grow a pair seems to me or find something else to cover. Womens soccer basketball or softball.
Everyone is so fricking sensitive these days it seems.

THe double standard is alive and well. They want to be in our clubs and locker rooms, but they don't want to play by our rules. Instead, they seek the change the rules to suit them. Don't think that Andrews hasn't seen her share of dicks hanging in the locker room. But God forbid that a man walk into a woman's locker room and get a peek at their goodies.

Seriously, get a grip. The guy does not work for and has NEVER worked for LSU. If you take a position that's based solely on you being attractive, people will make sexist remarks. It's a double-edged sword.

It's really just some old, dumb coot who asked a highly inappropriate question. I don't think the story merits local headlines much less local ones.
