BoCoTiger:
1. "But, journalism is all about clicks and views." No, it's not. It's also about honesty in reporting to inform the public, so they will know the truth and have adult discussions based on the truth. It's called journalistic integrity.
2. "The author got many more looks because HE LINKED CBK to the plight of racism in Louisiana." So the author was disingenuous at best when HE LINKED CBK to the problem by putting his name in the sub-headline. He did not expose CBK as a causative factor to the "plight of racism in Louisiana," yet he deliberately linked him to it. This is not surprising in today's media. It is a deliberate attempt to tarnish a man because he signed an approximate $100 million contract. Again, a lack of journalistic integrity. It is also an attempt to use that lack of integrity to get clicks, to support ad revenue, from the mostly left-leaning WaPo readership.
3. "How many people nationwide would read a WP article entitled, "Racism in Louisiana"?? A journalist's job is to expose the truth and spur discussion. I'd say this was a job well done." The article possibly would have gotten more clicks from the WaPo usual readership if it had borne the title you note. I agree the article spurred discussion, but unfortunately that discussion (including yours and mine) is not going to benefit anyone because the article was so obviously slanted. I don't condone lying and attempts to intentionally and baselessly tarnish ANY individual's reputation just to get readership. The only TRUTH EXPOSED was the bias of the author. I also find it humorous that a shill (not journalist) complains about CBK earning about $25,000 a day, when the owner of the shill's employer (WaPo), Jeff Bezos, made over $13 BILLION dollars in ONE DAY in 2020 from his Amazon stock (and I'm not complaining as I held AMZN at the time). I do agree with you that since it was intended as a "hit piece", it was a "job well done." Judging its journalistic integrity...FAIL. This FAILURE, I believe, is what upsets many of the readership on Tiger Rant. I am not one of those upset, because I do not expect better from WaPo. BTW, can you tell me what a "bedraggled iPhone" is?

IMHO LSU should be screaming at the top of their lungs refuting this nonsense and calling out the WaPo for hypocrisy. Why the silence?

There is no need. This piece isn’t really about lsu as an institution. It’s about disparity, the university with the newest highest paid coach is perfect for their example. It’s not about LSU specifically, it’s not about any individual actually listed in this story, other than the columnist, and maybe the unnamed confederate general.

If it was supposed to be about "disparity", then Jeff Bezos would have been a much better example than CBK. This was an intentional hit piece on LSU and CBK (which is why his name is in the sub-headline).

How can one human being be so ignorant. LBJ started brainwashing you low IQ clowns with what LBJ called the
Ni@@er bill and destroyed the black community to this very day and you low IQ people still vote Democrat SMDH. As for as “ privileged, my relatives picked cotton right along side blacks. We got a good education and worked our tails off to become successful as a lot of blacks have. People like you want everything handed to you. Get off the corner, get an education and do like everyone else.
Learn to take responsibility for your actions and quit blaming everyone else for being sorry. Every other race that comes to the USA has no problem succeeding. Your demographic is the only demographic that cries about everything under the sun.
ETA It would also benefit blacks if they wouldn’t act like uncivilized animals when they do not get what they want. No one wants to hire someone that behaves in that manner.

Good grief. Using celebrities and their actions as examples is pretty poor. You can easily name all of the people who have been cancelled by the left.
His celebrity examples are a joke as well. Minus Faulk, which is just a rumor from some poster, each one has done or said something that is reasonable to take objection to. His ilk wants to rewrite that to boil it down to “racism” however.

Yeah I’m not seeing where he is putting down Kelly. He wants him to earn the 10 million and is concerned about the bloat of money in football. But that’s what the market demands. You can be mad at it and criticize it but it’s what you have to pay to compete at a high level.

Ah this is how these often go. Facts are pointed out and then it’s just “well you’ll just never understand “

I don’t read propaganda. Racist Temple Sr. is a real piece of work. The dude can’t wear formal clothes for any occasion. Everybody wears suits, he wears the clothes he went to sleep in to the function. He doesn’t care about anybody but himself and I guess his family. No way he should be on the LSU Board with that mindset and his inability to show anybody respect. He’s a freaking joke.
He thinks because he was the first African American basketball player at LSU that everybody owes him something. Jackie Robinson breaking the color barrier in baseball was a big deal. Jessie Owens shoving it in Hitler’s face was a big deal. Racist Temple wasn’t anything.
There’s no doubt he and Tate get along real well. Both only see race and victims. Tate won’t be here after 2025. You heard it hear first. Temple will only serve one term on the Board.
PS Dale Brown is a self righteous piece of shite. The court should be named after Sue Gunter before that prick.

Amazon is not a public university. Attention was drawn because of the size of the contract. The WP doesn’t care enough about LSU to make a hit piece.

The Nazis began as a small, fringe group who hated the Jews.
They weren’t racists until they took power, intimidated Jews, and passed laws to lock them up and kill them. His logical is that, but the high IQ guy said it so it must be true.

I read it and yes, it addresses the disparity between what a coach makes and professors, the problem with all of that is, it is the same at every university. Tucker has a similar contract at MSU as BK.
The real issue is, would CT have made a big deal about this had a black coach been hired? Most likely Tucker would have received a similar deal had they hired him, this is a moot point. Yet, if all this is validated and true, will CT’s statements be viewed as racist and face consequences? Most likely not, but it damn sure would have had it been a white person making statements about the hire of a black coach. Double standards.
