They have a week to figure it out.
SEC play against UGA followed by road trip to Fla.
Several players look lost at the plate. Reid needs to be the DH. Schwanke coming to town Fri, bring him on as a hitting analyst.

Kind of like when Miles flirted with Hogs.
Alleva got played again when PM flirted with Longhorns.

Must want all the games to be uncompetitive wins

Considering the hotbed of baseball talent that comes out of Lake Charles Mcneese should always be fielding a pretty good ball club. This loss does not mean jack. I'll start worrying if we are 2-4 after our first two sec weekends.

yea scared of that dynamite Florida team that has the same record as LSU with loses Jacksonville, UCF, and just got swept in a 2 game series by Florida Gulf Coast. O'Sullivan the best coach in CBB got them boys rolling

Not to mention that great homefield advantage of playing in their great stadium

So, they have the same record and LSU has played like shite on the road.

Thanks for validating my point.

Yea the same record playing not nearly the competition and the part about home field advantage was sarcasm. I doubt they have as many fans as McNeese had last night

Since PM has taken over LSU has struggled at the beginning of the year and is able to turn it on later in the year. I think it's due to the fact that he's trying to figure out the best pitching combos combined with coaching the team up. They'll be fine.

You should keep it this way.

it seems alarming to dropping these midweek games to supposedly subpar talent

It's extremely alarming if you've never followed a full baseball season before.

Yes.

They deserve to be ranked in the 20-25 range

What have you seen that suggests this?

They need to improve in many areas

Understatement.

We've done the same thing in years where we've won championships.

So far, we are 1-2 in midweek games vs. in-state teams.

In 2009, we were 11-3
In 2000, we were 13-2
In 1997, we were 14-4
In 1996, we were 14-2
In 1993, we were 14-3
In 1991, we were 12-5

We have not lost the majority of our in-state midweek games in any championship season. To match our WORST record in such games in a championship season, we would have to play 14 more and go 11-3 in those.

Only being 3 games in doesn't really help your point.

The only point I was trying to make is that we don't have mediocre records in midweek games vs. in-state opponents in years when we win championships. How many we've played this year is irrelevant to that point.

I wonder what effect losing 4 innings of play the first weekend has had on developing guys for specific roles, and if it delayed anything.

Also, from an RPI standpoint, I wonder what the effect of trading an Air Force game for an Army game, and trading a San Diego game for a TBD worse opponent, will have.

If the point you're making is that championship teams don't lose often, I'm not sure anyone is going to disagree with you...

It didn't help. I wasn't happy about that.

This is one year where, if we take care of business (and so does Maryland and Baylor), we won't have to worry about RPI.
