That is mind boggling to think about. But at least they make up for it with pitching and great defense. I’m really hoping the bombs start coming soon though.

The first 2 home series was cold and wind blowing in. This happens almost every year. Once it warms up and wind comes from the south its game on. Plenty of power in this lineup.

I mean I really do love the plate discipline and small ball cuz it works the pitcher. But Im looking forward to seeing more John Pearson at the plate.

I’ll take the starting pitching and patience at the plate you can keep them home runs. Besides based on what I’ve seen we will hit our share don’t worry.

I would rather see doubles to the gap than random solo home runs . So far the plate discipline of this team looks great.

Where are you getting these numbers? We have 10 or 11.

Jay said it at the beginning of the year…. We will
Find a way to win ball games even if that means not hitting 200 homers this year

Yes home runs help, but that doesn’t determine if we win games or not. Maybe it’s me bc I like watching true pitchers work, and this year we have actual pitchers….but if I had to pick, I’d much rather have a legit pitching staff than hit 2-3 homers a game

No it's not. Jay Johnson addressed it before the season and noted that we might not have as many power hitters as we have had in years past

This. Last years team was WAY too reliant on the home run.

Well Historically if you’ve watched LSU baseball since the early 1990s, they have always had multiple guys hitting home runs every year. I really don’t mind scoring runs multiple different ways. I’m just not used to it.

I get that. It's just that this was expected coming into the year

It’s almost like when it’s colder and the wind blows in, it’s more difficult to hit a home run. Crazy shite.

54 Ks through 10 games. For reference, in 2023 we had 82 Ks through 10 games. Most people seemed pretty happy with the offense that year for some reason.

In the loss to Omaha, LSU had 3 long outs that would have easily been HR's in "normal" weather. Jones has had several long outs just by himself.

What makes the solo homerun random and a double in the gap not random?

They need to build a 100 ft vertical wall behind the stadium to prevent the north wind from blowing

Putting the ball in play will get you way further than Ks. SEC teams will have good defense but they will still make errors or bad judgement plays

There is plenty of power on this team but we tried to add power with the new players and it didn't quite work out as planned.

Hernandez, Priester, Frey, Costello, John Pearson, Yamin have not made their way into the starting lineup as of now.
