Yes but she wouldn't solve the struggle to throw the ball into the post

Yes, a point guard is more important, losing Morris was crucial

Morris or a capable point guard is the biggest downfall. Smith is a big loss though

THIS is the problem. Their STRENGTH is the perimeter and fast pace offense but mulkey is making them walk the ball and run half court offense and get the ball into the post. They lost this game off coaching and Thursdays game against South Carolina.

The ~20 minutes a game she would be playing is the biggest thing. The other 5 or 6 players would each play 3 to 5 fewer minutes a game on average and would not be gassed by the end of the game.

Poole was better than anything on the bench and would be the starting PG right now!

They are tired. No bench. They all play like 33+ mins every game

She would help with some of the fatigue.

A few things about HVL:

1. She is greatly improved since the beginning of the season. She is in game shape, and has better lateral motion both offensively and defensively than I've seen all year.

2. She is short, and has kind of a shot-put motion on long shots. So, she needs room to get those off, and that's tough to come by at the 1 instead of a spot up 2.

3. As she has gotten into better condition and grown into the PG position, she seems to have quickly become more ambidextrous, and maybe this is what CKM saw in her the first place.

I will say, though, I don't like the off handed (right for her) bounce passes into the paint from the top of the key. Far too many of those are intercepted, deflected, or out of synch.

I'm thinking John Stockton here: if you're going to bounce pass your way into the post from the top of the key you need to dribble your way into an angle (or see that is isn't there and just pass to a wing) and then make that entry pass crisply, quickly, accurately and authoritatively with the dominant hand.

No, she’s slower than HVL. Would get killed by real PGs like tonight, Auburn @ USCe

Who is our post player that is going to score for us? Certainly not Reese unless it is her rebounding her own missed shot and putting it back in. She has no offensive skills to move on a defender ..period.

Playing so many minutes and building up this endurance will serve us well in the tournament.

Morrow (though she is a guard, she's got low post game) and Rosario (who is getting better all the time).
