never before can I remember LSU ever using "weekend pitching" against SLU...

they pitched him one inning to get him some confidence. the fact that we brought him in to try to get some easy outs to get himself going in the right direction should tell you how lsu feels about slu. we could have put absolutely anyone in to close out slu

here are my thoughts on this game

LSU is on a 7 game losing streak when you are doing that bad a win is huge it can turn things around for you.

AR has been bad this year still hasn't found his grove. Short outings can help a pitcher who is struggling if he has a good outing then it builds his confidence and he pitches better firday if he has a bad outing well maybe he got it out of his system or something.

SLU played well but they aren't horrible so they will only be satisfied with a victory and they didn't have it losing is never a confidence builder epically for a team who has 30+ wins on the season

a 4 run lead isn't a close situation any time you have a lead like that you really don't need to use your closer cause only if he gives up 2 runs it would not be considered a save.

Our "Ace" pitcher has been injured and finding his grove since he has been back. You wanna complain about us throwing a pitcher at you that's giving up almost 15 runs in two outings? You should feel like shite that you could not score on him instead of complaining about us using him. If he was in his ace form like last year, he would of complete game you with 15+ strikeouts. Our struggling pitcher, Ross made some of your batters look like crap. Just because you win a few doesn't mean you are better than us. We won. We won with a struggling bullpen who can't catch a break. Go back to your little Selu board and leave division 1 baseball for the big boys.

to qoute PM AR pitched well dominated teh first to batters. Then over threw a fast ball to walk a guy (the guy did fight off a couple pitches) then the next two guys stuck their bat out there and got a hit.

exactly, that's why we were able to use ranaudo. the game was in hand and we had room to get ranaudo some needed reps to get confidence back. ranaudo isn't even the closer, so i don't really know what you're trying to get at

I am fully aware of that. I live down the street from slu. But what have you done in division 1? The point was to sit back off that high horse because you started out great and return to your 2nd and 3rd tier level.

trying to get a player some more experience when he is still struggling mightily makes sense to me.

not like we need him to beat you losers.

a good team would have knocked ross out with 6 runs in the 1st inning

if they had brought Ranaudo in at that spot, you might have a point.....but he put himself in that spot, are you this dense?

i was trying to make the point that we could have pitched anyone against him a 4 run lead isn't a close situation so you don't have to worry to much.

You also mentioned that you thought we didn't think much of SLU and i don't think that is correct AR needed some confidence and we where warming up rittner just in case AR got in a tight spot

that's my point. Ranaudo created a close game (not really) just brought the tying run to the plate, but it should not have come to that. He dominated the first two guys then looked like he lost it. I guess toughest out in baseball is the final out... There is no way to tell, but it appeared even against a SLU tonight that AR would have not lasted but a couple innings. This is what I don't want to happen Friday night vs Vandy. He needs to have a solid outing. Is he going Fri still? or changing days?
