Like the trademark throw on first down incomplete pass straight to run on 2nd for 2 yards. There's a reason that 2nd down run is never successful. This is 1 of several known tendencies he has dating back to last year and never "fixed" it.

How many times has this sequence happened this year?

Look, Sloan may not be as bad as some believe, and as previously mentioned, it's not all of his fault, but the man was completely unqualified and undeserving of the OC position at LSU based on his resume.

Forever a dumb take.

Joe Brady had 0 years of coaching offensive football prior to 2019 and many here claim he ran that entire offense.

Sloan is unproven… period.

Until we see Nuss healthy.

Otherwise, I can’t judge if he is great or not.

I remember when Jayden was in his first year here and was scared to throw the ball deep. , the fans kept blaming Mike Denbrock. LMAO Denbrock is an offensive genius at every college he coached at. Next year Jayden starts actually listening to Denbrock and sets NCAA passing records and wins the Heisman Fans are clueless sometimes.

Some fans are clueless, but the head coach said they coached to win the game and even stated that maybe you don’t fix the offense.

But maybe their parents, relatives and handlers do.

I think it's Nuss's injury

Yall are really eating up this Bullsh*t excuse about Nuss... Sloan's inability to scheme up a productive running game goes back to last year when he had entire Oline that got drafted. It was the main talking point all summer, and here we are...

Sloan is definitely the problem. Very predictable with no identity and no rhythm.

Until he establish a running game, this offense will not have many explosive/deep ball opportunities. Teams will continue to keep 2 safeties high until you become a threat on the ground.

People here were wrong about Ensminger

No they weren’t. Ensminger’s offense in 2016 and 2018 was a marginally better offense than Les’s. Hell, Ensminger himself didn’t even want Ensminger to be the OC. In 2019 Ensminger was the OC in name only. It’s was completely Brady’s offense unless you think Ensminger was just sitting on this tremendous scheme waiting for the right time to deploy it.

O acknowledged is was Brady’s offense (“The Joe Brady offense”). The people who vote for the Broyles Award felt the offense was Brady’s. Matt Rhule thought the offense was Brady’s (which is why he hired him as OC). Ensminger was unselfishly along for the ride.

Thus far, 16 games, Sloan has proven he has an offensive approach that can gain yards (through the air), convert 3rd downs, but not efficiently turn that production into TDs.

All this crap to me only accomplishes nothing but hurting our chances to get big time offensive recruits. I have no proof that it does but damm sure doesnt help by running down our OC on national TV.

I would imagine high demand transfers coming to LSU and only getting a few touches a game would hurt that more that some ding-dong on a TV show very few recruits watch. Finebaum’s audience is middle to upper middle aged rednecks who like to give themselves nicknames). Plus, whatever concerns big time recruits might have can always be assuaged by money. You know, like the one recruit Sloan was retained over Denbrock to land…that he didn’t even get.

Yep. Nuss has such a severe injury that it’s completely tanking the offense. Yet, rather than allow it to heal to get him in the best position to face 7 SEC teams the rest of the season it’s imperative he plays against SLU.

LSU rarely ever runs true zone read with Nuss. What you're mistaking for zone reads are play action and RPO's.

This is the hilarious part about fans attempting to judge playcalling, they don't even know what they're looking at most of the time.

No but he can call a pass play that goes further than the line of scrimmage on 3rd & 2 or 3rd & 3. Sorry but that’s just dumbass play calling.

I don’t understand why Nuss’s injury or poor O line play keeps us from running quick slant routes.

what? we have ran a shite ton of quick slants this year. everytime you see anderson get the ball about 7 yards up the field and run for 20 its a quick slant. they've worn out the quick slant, every game thats our main pass play

You honestly think a high school recruit is listening to Paul Finebaum and they will make the decision to go to a university off what the fans are saying??? You are just as bad as the ones calling the show.

The recruits are in contact with the coaches. If they want to go to the university and feel they can develop, they will. It won't be because "fans" said "x" coach sucks. They will know if that coach is full of shite when in talks with them.

Yes I am that old. And yes Billy Ryckman, Paul & Pat Lyons, Robbie Mahfouz, Lou Hebert, Mitch Dinkle, myself and others would workout in the summer at the Lafayette High field. And yes Don Long (Dandy Don) and I in the mid 70's would scout high school football prospects for Sam Nader. We did this on a voluntary basis.

Sloan has the same bad tendencies as he did last year. Yall can blame BK handcuffing him and Nuss’ injury all you want, Sloan isn’t a good play caller.
