You are missing mike sirotka who shared starting dates in the mid 90’s with Ogea & McDonald separately

Thanks Lester.

Impressive how many arms Skip sent up. Great info.

Opening batter against Skenes….Brice Turang.

Now there’s a name I haven’t thought of in a while.

Turang is only two years older than Skenes

Unlikely Skenes gets 10

He's recorded 8 outs and 6 of them have been Ks so far.

Yeah. He’s nibbling away from LH hitters and throwing more than he needs to..

Paul Skenes is the current #1 pitcher in the world. I thought it would take him a couple years to get there, but at 22 years old, and 11 starts into his career, he is currently right this second the best in the world.

Anytime I think he can’t impress any more than he already has, he does it and then some.

Checked Pirates box score to see

4 IP, 0 hits, 0 runs, 9 strikeouts, 1 walk. Just fanned his 10th too.

23 pitches total in the 4th and 5th for him.

He’s gone over 100 a few times. He will pitch the 6th and be relieved in the 7th.

He’s at 86 pitches, and there’s no world in which he doesn’t come out for the 6th. If he goes 13 pitches like the 5th inning, they will roll him out for the 7th as well. But yes he will not finish the game.

That’s the bad thing about high K pitchers.

Unless you just absolutely have it all game, you’re lucky to go past the 7th due to pitch volume.

His lineup isn’t doing him any favors vs a 5+ era pitcher.

72 pitches for Civale thru 5.2

..and, of course, they put together back to back singles with two outs. Tellez at 2nd so it has to a nice long single to score that dude.

It's amazing how the Pirates can't hit when Skenes pitches

The Brewers pitcher has started 18 games this year. Not a single game has he had zero runs given up through 6 innings, but he does today.
Hell he's only made it through 6 innings on 3 occasions all year.

For a while they were scoring 8+ with him starting.

It’s either 0-1 or 8+. No in between.

Last game they scored 14 for him.
