Barstool sports started this idea. Props to them. Everyone was assuming one of the vets having a fantastic year would take the ball. Barstool was telling them to go with the hottest name in the sport.

Since Skenes will only go 3-6 batters, how fast will he throw those 4 seamers on Tuesday night?

Barstool had nothing to do with it.

Skenes is a top 3 NL starter today, and his last start lined up perfectly with the ASG.

MLB Network had been talking about it for few weeks.

You could make a strong argument is THE top NL starter

He has the most K's/9 of any pitcher in the regular starter in NL. He has the best WHIP, along with the best ERA of any of the other starters by nearly 1 full run.

To say he has been dominant is an understatement. He's averaging over 9ks and 1 walk every time he starts with the most runs given up in any start this year being 3. Oh, and he's getting BETTER each month

Good thing he didn't go to Tennessee. They wanted to make him a relief pitcher during mid week games. Yes this is sarcasm. Watching him last year was so much fun.

16 months ago I was thinking to myself, “I hope this Paul Skenes can fill the void left when Paul Gervase moved on.”

That aged about as well as “I hope Burrow can develop into an even better version of Danny Etling.”

Man he's living an insane life for the past 2 years. He transfers to LSU, puts the pitching guys on his back and says lets ride, wins the CWS, gets drafted #1, is 6-0 with 66 innings pitched, and now gets the call that hes starting the all star game. And thats just his professional career. Lets not forget who he gets to take home at night, Ms. Dunne. Take it all in young man you deserve it!

2023 Skenes 2.08 ERA against SEC
2024 1.91 ERA in MLB.
How much better is he going to get??

I told you guys he’d be a star in the majors but y’all didn’t want to listen

You are right. You are the only person who watched Skenes pitch last season that said, "that kid is going to be a great major league pitcher." STFU
