Just full days between starts are counted…otherwise Thursday night would have been 5 days rest….not how it works
exactly, which is why the ESPN graphic during the Thursday game showed he was on his least rest between starts in his career yet, 4 days rest. Just how rest days are counted, actual days off between starts. Now he will be going on 3 days rest which will absolutely be brought up during the broadcast tomorrow for the doubters. Can tell who just started watching baseball for the first time this weekend.

No one’s saying he won’t go tomorrow. He will.

Yeah even if you want to break it down to the minute then a normal week is considered 7 days rest not 6, and throwing on 4 days rest is still the same as 3 days the way every normal person counts it.

But then you would know how long he’s actually rested lol. I prefer accuracy.

Baseball: the exit velo was 112.34 mph at a 35° launch angle and here’s a heat map of a hitters ABs since 3rd grade

Also Baseball: meh round done cause I’ve only seen 3 full suns

I can understand that something “is done that way” and still not like it

Don't give a shite how many "official days" they are.

Well that’s how a schedule works for a pitcher to get himself ready for his next start. It’s not just about total hours. He has 3 days of work to get himself ready. He wasn’t doing prep work for his next start sitting in the dugout after he was pulled Thursday

It’s also relevant he had two fewer days prior to his last start. Pitching on substantially shorter rest two straight starts is pretty damn significant

I get what you are saying. But do you think he is not going to start tomorrow and pitch deep?

I mean, if you go by some of these people’s standards, you could argue 5 days rest. Skenes didn’t pitch until midnight on Thursday, so there’s rest that day as well ??

Nothing wrong with that. You’re probably just as ignorant about Lacrosse and Cricket. What’s goofy is being that ignorant and then arguing about it with people who are knowledgeable.

Thank you for explaining like a human being and not an idiot. So do you think he starts tomorrow in the national championship final game? I am pretty sure he does and goes as long as he wants

“Technically” 4 days is 96 hours which is obviously more than your 93, so “technically” it wouldn’t be 4 days and you are wrong once again

I know we all think Skenes is a mutant who ca. do anything, but he is human. He wasn’t 100% his last start. His 85% just happens to be better than most pitchers’ 100%

Y’all were the ones pretending to be all high and mighty saying it’s only “3 pitching rotation.”

Don’t know who the y’all is. All I’m saying is it is the standard of baseball to count consecutive calendar days in which you do not throw any live pitches as days of rest. It does no good to argue this point and say it’s four when we’re talking about the same thing. A full day of not pitching, not warming up, not winding down after.

The amount of time, whatever you want to call it, between his last outing and this one is probably too short for him to give you a full start without risking strain or injury. But he can give you something, and he will certainly want to.

He might. But if he does, I’m not expecting him to look as sharp or go 120 pitches again.

Really this is a “budgeting” vs “penny pinching” argument.

If you are budgeting you talk in hundreds but we are scrounging for pennies so imma count pennies
