It’s been several years since LSU had that dominant Friday night starter. Skenes is bringing back the glory days of the LSU weekend rotation.

He looked like Nola with more velocity. His control and placement was elite.

I know it’s only the first weekend but this pitching staff looks very deep. And the lineup isn’t too shabby. Could be a special season if we can stay healthy.

Slow down.

He was great but Nola is the best pitcher in lsu history

Skenes looks like a bonafide Ace, first rounder though.

Team looks stacked asf. Hopefully we stay healthy and Tanks comes back. This could finally be our year

LSU hasn't had an ace like this since Lange.

He's easily better than Lange in college.

Lange went 12-0 with a 1.97 ERA as a freshman in the SEC. I think Skenes is going to be great, but let’s not like he’s has faced anywhere near the competition that Lange was facing for 3 straight years.

2021 Landon Marceaux would disagree but after that yes I agree. He was under appreciated because we stunk.

Marceaux doesn’t come close to 2015 Lange

Sure but that doesn’t mean he’s not an ace. Marceaux was an ace. I didn’t say he was better than Lange.

2021 Marceaux (17 games started)

102.2 IP
2.54 ERA
116 Ks
26 walks

7-7 record. Ace with no offense on Friday nights. Dude was no hitting Arkansas in the 7th inning and we lost 7-0 lol

Absolutely the best starter we’ve had since Lange. Nice to have a true Friday night guy….been a minute
