There is value in continuing to stretch out Coleman. I think he's a once a weekend guy anyway so if you can get 3 (or more if needed) innings out of him in one appearance that can help.

With Floyd and Little running up pitch counts by the 5th/6th Coleman could get you to the 8th or 9th you should be in a great position to win. Despite what it looks like Floyd/Little almost always give the ball up with the lead or having kept it close.

Agree. I'm hoping they stretch him again this weekend to see if that is a trend with him or if he improves with longer outings as it goes on.

If he can't then you have an answer on his best role. More of a guy to get 2-3 innings to bridge the gap to someone to close, or just close it out himself. All depends on Skenes and how far he gets.

Very possible. Those are our three best at the moment but we do need a reliable closer. That may be Hurd.

He's going to be the main beneficiary of getting out of the SEC, from an umpiring perspective.

He gets squeezed sometimes and it runs up his pitch count. If he just gets another 3 outs a game, we're in much better shape.

I actually think getting out of sec play will help all of our current starters, but mostly floyd. Teams in our league have seens lots of Ty. But the first time a team sees him and his fastball, i think he’ll be tougher on hitters. And the larger strike zone for him too

Hurd looked more relaxed than I've seen him all year.

Hurd pitches 1.2 decent innings and you already want him taking a weekend role in SEC play? Sheesh

Hurd is not going to be a closer lol

His stuff is too good when he's consistent not to keep looking at a possible starting role somewhere. He has ace stuff. If he puts it together Hurd/Skenes could give you the best duo in the country. He has 1st round ability.

Pffft. You must not be paying attention. We aren’t even getting to the regionals because of our horrible bull pen combined with terrible fielding and atrocious base running.

Signed to many people on the Rant.

With Coleman coming off injury I don't see him starting. Herring has been assumed to be working towards a starter role but he seems to struggle when he gets extended, so I don't think that's a great move at this point. Hurd has starter potential, sure, but he definitely needs to show some consistency before he jumps back into the rotation. Someone mentioned Money, and I could potentially see him going to a Sunday start if necessary, but I don't think Little has struggled enough nor Money excelled enough to make that change.

I could def see money as our tourney 4th starter. He's not going to shut anyone out, but could eat some innings. Our bats can handle just about any non-Ace so as long as we're potentially up against someone else's rag arm, we should be able to make it work.

If they can get Coleman’s pitch count up before regionals. If it’s up there and he feels good and continues to dominate I don’t see how you can justify leaving the rotation as it is. Still hoping Floyd can figure it out but I’ve been hoping for a few years now. Skenes/Coleman 1-2 punch for the start of regional play can work.

Money is not going to start in any capacity. If he comes into the game to extend it means you're in trouble. And Hurd has been showing consistency lately.

I saw One projection where our 4 was Maine. Money threw 7 scoreless innings against them last year lol.

Are you forgetting that Hurd was the Sunday starter for seven weeks?

I mean, these are all glaring problems. And you didn’t even mention starting pitching after Skenes, which this whole thread is about.

Extreme viewpoints deserve to be mocked but also thinning everything is ok is ignorant.

Doubt it. In a regional they'd probably save someone like Herring, Little, etc. whoever jostles their way into day 3 role. If Herring grabs it you still have options like Hurd or Little at that. Why would you ever use Money over those guys? He's bottom of the bullpen and his only major benefit is he can extend. He gets shelled. He'd probably work better in Omaha because the ballpark is huge.

A cold weather or SWAC school is going to allow lsu to be a little more liberal with who they start in G1. They don’t really have arms to waste. They will try and steal some innnigs imo

If you don’t throw a guy like money, the more likely you would have to see him later in the regional. And god forbid they drop a game. You don’t want to have to count on him.

Lsu should outslug whoever they matchup with in a GM1. They should be able to burn anyone

You only have to win 3 games if you win game 1.

If we can smoke Some shitty school and pitch Skenes in the winners bracket then we can go all out game three to take the series.

The doomsayers keep acting like every team in a regional is South Carolina. 2/3 others teams can’t hold half our schedules jock strap.
