tougher conference argument no longer holds water. apples to apples look what each of them did against alabama

quote:2014 Florida #13 rush defense
I saw that Guice could fumble inside the 5 and go the wrong way on the biggest play of the game, yet still be more effective.
Fournette - 27 car 140 yards 2 TDs (5.18 ypc)
2015 Florida #25 rush defense
Fournette - 31 car 180 yards 2 TDs (5.81 ypc) 1 rec 15 yards
2016 Florida #35 rush defense
Guice 19 car 83 yards 1 TD (4.37 ypc) 1 rec 29 yards
Guice is definitely more effective than an injured Fournette who couldn't even finish the game that he wasn't even supposed to play in.
quote:
I am not anti-Fournette by a long stretch, but I have felt that LSU has been a better team w Guice on the field.
Of course YOU would feel that way. Guice only played against one good defense all year at that was Florida. He won't against Louisville either as they are without 2 starting LBs, one with big stat line. I'm not saying Guice isn't incredible (because I have been preaching how good he is since his high school time), but in his LSU career, Guice hasn't gotten significant carries vs any team with a pulse on defense except Florida.
quote:
With that said, Fournette plays for a future, and Guice just plays, period.
Yeah I guess he does just play for a future when he decided to stay home to play for LSU instead of going to the Bama machine and likely doing even better over there, with 1-3 national championships.
Yeah I guess he does just play for a future when he averaged 25 carries per game last year and repeatedly ran against 8 and 9 man boxes with no passing game his entire career.
Yeah I guess he does just play for a future that even with a high ankle sprain he suffered during fall practice, he plays vs Wisconsin and Auburn (top 25 rush defenses), and every other big opponent he could. I mean anybody that watched the UF game, knows he was very healthy, and also didn't get injured for like the 3rd or fourth time this year. I mean he also didn't get hurt against Auburn and came back in anyway to try to block on one leg right? I mean that's what we are doing now right?
Questioning the effort of a guy who carried the ball like he was the only offense as a sophomore, and played gimpy and injured in a year where he could earn 20-30 million. I don't understand some LSU fans. This man could have completely destroyed LSU with Bama while also winning national championships, but decided to come here instead, yet this is the thanks he gets for finally looking out for himself.
I mean we'll go to bat for the guy because he gave his high school award away to another player, or came to apologize to another team for the way he acted on the field, or donating his autographed jersey to an auction for flood victims, or letting his teammates get a piece of the action when he could have easily broken 300 yards in multiple games last year, but God forbid he finally looks out for himself and his kid by not playing in a crappy arse bowl game or not going to some team banquet (WTF, who cares).
How f**king selfish some of you are.

You Tigerdroppings posters never cease to amaze me with your stupidity. You all have no idea if Leonard Fournette is hurt, but you think he is faking it. You turn your back on him now that he is finished playing. Some idiot thinks jabrill Peppers is not really. Your spurts bar hero theories are on display
You totally responded to Rick in the wrong context, he's saying that Fournette was the most consistent guy on offense and that if not for he and Guice it would've been some though years of watching LSU football. Basically, LSU owes the players more than the players owe the school.

That's fine and all, but he could have waited to sign an agent and at least traveled with the team. I mean what's one more week or so?

Oh how quickly we forget, how many games did Fournette hop off the field on one leg this season? How many games did he play in that he should've sat out? The kid should've missed the first 4 games at minimum, but he played for his team and you (the fans). Now some of us want to act like none of his positives can out weigh the agent signing. We all want to see him play, I wanted to see him finish with 1,000 yards. He's a good kid that probably feels like there is nothing left to prove. Many on here down talked him for playing against Bama and Florida, now that he's doing what you want he's the bad guy. Fournette is playing for the future, just like everyone else that has suited up this weekend.

Either he's hurt or he's not hurt. I don’t believe he's not hurt.
Since he's hurt, he can either play hurt or not play hurt.
Since he's turning pro, he'd be foolish to play hurt in a game that can't help his pro standing.
What he did by signing with an agent was try and help himself and his family. It's a no-brainer. I hope he has a great pro career, and I'm glad I got to see him in purple and gold.

Wasted career at LSU that is a fact Les Miles screwed this guy with an offensive coordinator that was twenty years behind the times .
Hell Les was twenty years behind the times LF has had enough of LSU . Never made it to NY to the big stage cash the advance check from Jay Z Leonard you deserve it .

It's just the way of the world today to create drama and have something to talk about. Leonard's ankle has been a problem all season. He shouldn't have even played in the Florida game but he wanted to help get the team in the sugar Bowl. He gave everything he had to try and play through it this season.
The thing with an ankle injury is it can feel fine after a few weeks but is very easily reinjured. A slight tweak or roll that wouldn't normally hurt a healthy ankle, will likely reinjure an an ankle that was recently sprained but no longer hurts when running, cutting etc.
I'm sure if LSU was in the playoffs he would be playing. It's real easy for people not in his position to criticize and create drama. He's absolutely making the right choice.

Personally i think all draft eligible players should sit, I would hate for them to have their career ruined like Ben Wilkerson.

I agree
And all of that is what he should've done, except the signing.
Travel w your team, be on sideline, help them the best you can....then take all the cash you want. I can't disagree more with departing from your teammates in the last game.

Let's make this really simple. Leonard, as a fan I truly enjoyed watching you play at LSU; I also commend you for staying home and playing in Louisiana. I wish you luck in the NFL; you are getting to live every athletic kid's dream.

I'm ok with Leonard sitting out this game but he could have waited until tomorrow to sign with an agent. He could have been with his team for the game and supported his teammates and signed in the morning. I don't think would be catching as much heat if he would have done it this way.
But then again maybe he wanted to give his family, and especially his daughter, a great Christmas this year. I'm sure he was able to get a significant advancement from his agent.
As a fan I would have preferred he stayed with the team but as a father I certainly understand why he didn't.

Some of you need to grow up.

We wouldn't be having this conversation if doubts about his health were not present from all.
The questions about the health of his ankle and the fact he reinjured this ankle 3 times this year as he tried to help the Tigers is the issue. Fournette never healed the ankle all year and there is no question about this. His high ankle sprain hobbled him in 4 to 5 of the 7 games he played and I am not sure he was 100% all year.
I have no doubt about this ankle is not 100% healed even today.
Could LF7 take the field today and perform?
No doubt he could
Is his ankle healed?
No doubt is not 100%
? if you were a dentist and you put a filling in a tooth could the patient eat something hard that night with out it falling out answer yes but would you recommend this NO
why take the risk
