A very apolitical, but heartfelt statement from Coach O.

I'd say he hit the correct balance.

One thing I notice about people who use the term "virtue signalling" is their lack of such virtues.

I wonder how many people will get legit angry at him for supporting his players and ex-players.

Love this line

It’s usually repeated by casual racists who shortly thereafter follow up with some statistic showing that white people are killed by the police more than “blacks”.

It's a virtue signaling parade for anyone that profits off blacks.

College coaches and professional coaches will try to our virtue the other.

Gotta get them recruits.

Damned if you do and Damned if you don't.

This is bs. Coaches are called out on SM if you don't speak out but called Virtue signaling if they do.

People have their opinions. And are free to share.

The Cajun people understand discrimination and bigotry because often times they are subjected to it.

If you don’t believe me, just reference the comments about coach O’s ethnicity on this forum.

“Shrimp boat captain” “yaw yaw” etc

Coach O’s connection is genuine not some prearranged media stunt

The last paragraph of the article really stood out to me as O being able to read the room. He can truly empathize with his black players but he did not want to take away from the larger impact of his statement.

As another poster mentioned, he really struck a good balance.
