yes, but it's nonsense. One guy apparently called him a racial slur. And gee, I think there have been, what, 1000 black players at Georgia over the past 30 years and we haven't heard a peep about "racism."

Really disappointed Fields is going this route.

I'm not disappointed. It's OK for a fellow student athlete on scholarship to do that to another? It was significant enough the baseball player who did it got kicked off the UGA baseball team and he was a damn good player. Someone in the UGA admin found him to be totally out of line. There are a plethora of racist MF'rs in this state, maybe times are changing. I still think it was more Fields not getting as many plays as he desired or was led to believe he would get this past season, but the racist shite didn't help the situation.

That's harsh.

But you raise a valid point. What evidence is there that this staff can take a QB and make him an adequate SEC QB?

LSU is not "Scaring" Alabama with Fields (Or anybody else) in the immediate future until the OL is significantly upgraded and I haven't seen enough in Cregg OL recruiting to make a big difference.

That’s bullshite. We recruit OL just as well as every other school out there except for Bama. (And don’t even come in here with that “But muh Georgia” shite because our OL pushed their DLs shite in this year).

If other schools can have a vertical threat against Alabama (and they most certainly have) then there is no excuse for us not having one too.

Yeesh, if that's true then I don't want Fields -- we don't need that toxicity here.

It’s not really “toxic” because he really doesn’t feel “threatened” or that Georgia is really “racist”. He’s simply using this as an “excuse” to get to play next year with another team.

Basically he doesn’t believe his own bullshite but will go with it if it can benefit him.

Because one kid, in a screaming crowd of 96,000 people yelled "Put Fields in. Put the n* in the game!" Which Fields never even heard?

Yeah, he's not getting immediate eligibility over that.

I do think he'd be a hell of a weapon for LSU to have, though.

I agree. If he has to sit out a year then LSU has a chance. If he gets his waiver then there's no way he's coming to LSU because Burrow is the man for next year. Fields wants to be the man next year and I can't blame him. He's talented and he holds all the cards. I wish him the best and if he somehow lands at LSU that would be awesome!

Kyler Murray weighs 195 lbs. Brennan is tough and his weight will be a non-factor.

Ryan Day Resume vs Ensminger:

Coach Ryan Day has proven his worth to the Buckeyes since he was hired by Coach Meyer in 2017. His 2018 offense was #2 in the nation accounting for over 7,000 yards and 70 touchdowns with an average of 548.8 yards per game.

In addition to these impressive numbers, coach Day has proven his ability to nurture and develop young quarterbacks on all levels. The list includes Dwayne Haskins, Sam Bradford and Colin Kaepernick.

Day, who will become Ohio State’s head coach Jan. 2, has a reputation as a quarterback savant. He groomed Haskins, who rewrote the school and Big Ten record books, into a Heisman Trophy finalist this season.

The Buckeyes have all the pieces to convince Fields to transfer to Columbus. Coach Ryan Day’s experience combined with his explosive, creative and aggressive offensive mentality is just what Justin Fields is looking for.

I think this is kind of the point. Him claiming a hardship to justify immediate eligibility, based on the actions of a student who was punished severely by the school, feels like a slippery slope. If the UGA admin hadn’t responded at all, maybe there’s an argument.

Maybe I’m missing part of the story, but it feels like he should have to base that claim on more than just one action by one student.

Wait Burrow’s not a legit dual threat? Or are you just saying Fields is better?

Nonsense. If Sports Illustrated suggests even a wisp of a possibility he's transferring to The Ole War Skule, then it's happening!

After a Georgia Bulldogs’ baseball player used racial slurs to describe Fields earlier this season, he hired attorney Tom Mars who represented Michigan quarterback Shea Patterson when he filed the same exemption petition to be granted immediate eligibility.

“The transfer is due to documented mitigating circumstances that are outside the student-athlete’s control and directly impact the health, safety and well-being of the student-athlete”.

On Sept. 29, a Georgia baseball player directed racial slurs at Fields during a game against Tennessee. The baseball player was dismissed from the team after an internal investigation.

Then Smart blamed Fields for the failed 4th down fake punt in the SECCG.

The attorney Mars has won Shea Patterson a waiver and several other high value players simply by documenting that what was promised in the recruitment was not delivered and that was detrimental to the future of the player. This case has several other "documented mitigating circumstances that are outside the student-athlete’s control and directly impact the health, safety and well-being of the student-athlete."

"Play me like you said or release me." Unpaid players should be free to seek greener pastures without sitting out or not be able to go to a competitor. Mars and the NCAA have opened that option. You just have to petition. It would be justice if "Smart's" dumb play he tried to blame on Fields backfired.

Fields will not replace Burrow. 2 QB system will not work with LSU. Fields would be great for 2020 and 2021 assuming he wins the position.

It's not like Burrow lit the world on fire with his play this year. Fields is more than capable of coming here, competing, and winning the starting the job next season. If he he does come here, but can't beat out Burrow at least he pushed Burrow to get better. It's a win-win scenario to me. Burrow doesn't have any competition right now. None of the other QBs on LSU's roster is going to push Burrow to grow.

agreed. Burrow wasn’t all that great- but was a bit of an upgrade. Needs lots of improvement and getting pushed would help.

I still say Burrow and Fields can both play for LSU in 2019 and both be successful,
