SI - Justin Fields is LSU's vertical passing threat that would scare Ala for a few years

SI - LSU listed as one of eight teams where GA transfer QB Justin Fields could land, immediately play, and prosper.
According to Andy Staples in SI " under new NCAA transfer guidelines, Fields has a strong case to receive a waiver for immediate eligibility, and players no longer have to request permission to transfer from a school, which leaves him a bevy of options as he contemplates where he will play college football next."

"LSU has been searching for above-average quarterback play for a while, and Fields could bring the kind of excitement that could bring Tigers offensive coordinator Steve Ensminger’s unit close to matching Tigers defensive coordinator Dave Aranda’s unit. Graduate transfer Joe Burrow stepped up in several big moments, but the Tigers threw for fewer than 200 yards in seven games this season and threw only 13 touchdown passes. Any semblance of a vertical passing threat, which Fields possesses, could give them an attack to scare Alabama for the next few years.

what is his case? He played in 12 of UGA's 13 games and has no "out" like the Ole Miss players did.

Burrow in '19 and Fields in '20-'21 would be a huge upgrade.

He is claiming racism. That’s the rumor. He will have to word it’s if he feels unsafe on uga campus but he will definitely win if he goes that route. Ncaa won’t touch it

Combination of Burrow and Fields both playing would give defenses fits, LSU could use Burrow to run it and Fields to sling it. Sort of a clone of the New Orleans Saints' offense.

There is no "claiming", it happened and came from UGA's 1st or 2nd team all SEC 1B who was summarily kicked off UGA's baseball team posthaste. Maybe Fields does get a waiver. Regardless, full steam ahead on getting Fields to BR.

Personally, I like the negativity, it makes the outcome that much sweeter, when he signs with the LSU Tigers.

If Fields is eligible to play right away he will want to go to a team that pretty much guarantees he starts right away. I don’t see how LSU can tell him that with Burrow returning.
Fields might well be better than Burrow, but it would be a controversy. Burrow is a very popular player among team mates and fans. I think Fields will look for a place where the keys get handed to him and he doesn’t have any real competition.
I would have mixed emotions about Fields replacing Burrow. I think Burrow is going to be very good next year. Fields isn’t really proven at the college level. But his upside is tremendous, so you have to go after him.
LSU would have been the perfect landing place for Fields as a freshman. He would have started and Burrow would have not come here.

I don’t think you know what claiming means.
I do think it would be pretty soft if he is so distraught because of one jackass that he feels unsafe. Obviously a racist event occurred.

I don't see a problem with both Fields and Burrow playing for LSU. Coach O wants to run Burrow, now O can run Burrow a lot more and have Fields as his reliever.

You don’t, but he likely will. If he didn’t want to sit behind Fromm, I doubt he’d be cool sitting behind Burrow. He clearly believes he should be playing immediately.
