No but it should done with a team vote, not passed down from one player to the next. They should never be given because a player requested it when they were recruited or transferred ( Giles I am talking to you ). I also think it should be more selective and earned by merit, never given as a incentive. I don't think it should be a must that is handed out ever year.

this statement is a clear indication of the lack of understanding of what the #18 is supposed to mean and why many of us wouldn't mind the #7 obsession going away but would like to see the #18 tradition continue.

If the players want to give #7 and #18 meaning, then so be it. It is 100% up to them to decide if it's something special or not to THEM.
