This is embarrassing on so many levels.

1. That you even had to ask it.
2. That near half said yes.

Clemson should also want out of the game. It doesn’t help them either.

No but we should schedule a week 0 game as a tune up

I’ll be so fricking embarrassed if LSU ever plays a “Week 0” game. So dumb.

Most likely yes because had we beaten Florida we would have played Texas in SECCG & the committee clearly showed losing your Champ game doesn't hurt you. Texas has a good D but their offense is average. If Nuss had a good game we could potentially have beaten Texas & gotten the auto bid and a bye.

Yeah - good ahead and cancel the game - send a message to the fans and potential recruits that the Pussification of LSU football is complete !

The SEC has a rule that everyone must play at least one non-conference game against a Power 4 opponent.

I believe this was a rule for the 2024 season and going forward not a hard and fast rule.

Now that the playoff committee has devalued strength of schedule by allowing multiple teams with weak schedules to be in the playoffs, should LSU try to cancel next season's opener at Clemson,

I feel that we are paying high season ticket prices for the excitement and entertainment that come with tough games, win ‘em or lose 'em. I don’t feel that we should give up on excitement for an easier rent-a-win. If any team, including LSU can’t beat an equivalently competitive out of conference foe, such as the Clemsons, Florida States, and USCs of the world, there is no reason to give a back door entry NC tournament. It becomes a meaningless and fixed exercise. I think you’ll see some claims that this year’s tournament may suffer that claim. Football is a competition, not a political exercise. Downvote away.

I dont think teams should stop playing games like this. Go and win it while not losing to unranked conference teams.

Clemson needs the game more than we do...it helps their SOS immensely.

BS…all Clemson has to do is win their conference to earn an automatic bye in the playoffs. SOS isn’t a factor

LSU, Alabama, Ole Miss, & South Carolina should cancel ALL games against strong OOC opponents, and replace them with cupcakes.

Why give acc the bump they get by playing sec

Because they deserve a hefty upgrade in the playoff considerations due to having the guts to up their strength of schedule.

When a supposed SEC powerhouse does the opposite they should and would be downgraded in playoff considerations. What counter argument can the powerhouse make? Something to the effect of “We beat Eastern Tennessee Wartmoles by 42-9?

Cancel it and add a mediocre home game against a sub belt team as an opener.
Add a SWAC-HBCU school or Jacksonville State.

LSU footballs gets an easy warm-up practice game and LSU fans get an entertaining half-time show, [/img].......
