Actually it's an interesting issue. It can be argued that the entire contract was earned at the time it was signed and the payout was in fulfillment of the contract terms. Will be interesting to see how they rule. To the downvoter, I am not hoping for a ruling in her favor.

not familiar with La law anymore but in Fl that would likely be treated as a pension fund to be divided

% is usually a personal injury case.

Normal hourly fees apply to most other types of litigation, or agreed upon flat rate for representation. Court costs and expenses usually are extra.

If anyone should understand this it's a woman suing a millionaire for spousal support.

i’ve read the contract a few times and it’s not guaranteed money it’s worded as a buyout if he is fired.

It’s clearly now all owed to the family, if he retired or died or was fired for cause this isn’t money he already earned.

No. They said he would never win anything. Won it all by his 3rd year.

At the start I commented that he would leave program worse off than when he started. He did.

When he wants a contract he can be an ok coach. When he has a new contract he is shite.

He is a piece of crap who was protected here by too many because he was allegedly one of us. He was never pro LSU until LSU was paying him. Anyone with half a brain knew once Les hired him Ed was going to be attempting to work his way into Les’s position behind the scenes. He is loyal to no one.

The payment was for a contractual obligation earned during their marriage and I have little doubt she paid a high price to put him in a position to get that contract.

Horse shite

She did not do half of 17 million dollars worth.

He had plenty of money before the buyout that she’s “entitled” to. That’s a lot of money that she in no way earned. Anyone could’ve taken her place. And who knows what she did to tear that marriage apart. Wasn’t she an addict?

She wasn’t coaching. I hope she doesn’t see a cent.

Marriage is such a raw deal for the man. Can you imagine demanding nearly 8 figures for doing nothing?

The offer isn’t complete until the Board of supervisors approved it. O keeps his cash.

Thought he got the big extension and buyout agreement after he filed for divorce? Why should she be entitled to future money if they are legally separated?

If your wife filed for divorce and you win the lottery a month later, you giving her half?

Wtf are you talking about? Les promised to evolve the offense after Jindal saved his job and after the first game, everyone with eyes saw that it was the same stubborn shite he was running. He lost a couple games and his job. The end.

Les took the knife and stabbed himself in the chest. He needed zero help from O

Orgeron's parting words to LSU: "I'm taking my new sweet babe to Destin."

Dear Kelly, there is no more money.

The females always win in the long run, regardless of what the court rules. My divorce attorney - who was a worthless POS - told me the first time I met with him that if I could prove my ex-wife was a crackhead and a prostitute was the only way I was getting the kids and not paying child support in the state of Alabama. That was 15 years ago, and even though he was a POS, he was correct.

Wasn't there infidelity on her part? Was she on the sidelines? I know with our screwed up justice system she'll get half. She should get fricked.

So far, 2 courts have ruled in O’s favor. She has appealed to the state Supreme Court yet the rant has the legal answers. Interesting. I wonder if the state Supreme Court will cite tigerdroppings in its ruling?
