How long do you guys think it'll be before we see Shep as our full time QB? The highlight reels on this kid in highschool were unbelievable to watch. Seems like if he has that much talent, it shouldn't be long before he our man. Maybe the end of this year? Maybe our 2010 starter? I know there are alot of JJ fans here, so I'd be interesting to see how many think he's better than Shep. I'll do us a favor and leave JL out of this one.

3 years...MAYBE. JJ is the starter and Garrett is a beast as well. Depends if Crowton wants to run his offense he ran at Oregon or if he wants to run the offense he ran at Tech.

I just don't see him as the starting QB anytime soon. I think he will get the ball in many different ways over the next few years and obviously have major impact.

I'm not sure he'll ever be the starting QB here. I see them using him as more of a poor man's Pecy Harvin. Hopefully he just becomes like the actual Harvin.

He'll have the opportunity to be the full-time starter in his senior year in 2012 (though I wish it was 2013..I think he should redshirt.

Given his ability with the ball in his hand I don't think anyone, but you, really wants to see this kid get a redshirt. His future is NOT at QB.

Baton Rouge would riot if he did. Hell, you've got idiots on here asking by what game he will take over the starting job next year.

Kids like RS aren't meant to redshirt. If he can't be the starting qb, you simply devise many other ways to get him the ball. Besides, what if he were to leave after his third season at LSU? Then you only get two years out of the kid.

i for one thinks that he could have a future at qb. even if he doesn't make it at qb his athletic ability is at such a high level he could play slot,or i believe he would make a great cornerback. either way his future is limitless because he possess a great attitude and the will to learn.

Then his career would end at LSU. He's going to project the same way Harvin did in the NFL. Put the kid in multiple spots to get his hands on the ball. It's not that hard.

Another in a long line of future all american/heisman hopefuls based on video of high school football.

Give him a freshman season before you start any of this. He isn't going to start this year at qb and maybe never that that position.

hey yat i'm no coach but you can tell that this kid has something that seperates him from most ball players his age. the difference between him and harvin is that harvin is in the news alot not related to his on field abilities. shepard seems like he's not a hellraiser. his future is on the offensive side of the ball whether it's qb or at another skill position.

What was he accused of? I don't remember hearing anything bad about him other than he's supposed to have a cocky attitude.

I think JJ is going to be a very good QB. It would be nice if he was good enough to leave for the draft after his junior year, which would give shep 2 years of full time duty. Personally, and I know many don't agree, I would love to see Shep redshirt so he could play even more....so we will see. If JJ gets hurt, then who knows.

He tested positive for drugs. . .though that isn't exactly relevant to the conversation.

What is relevant is that on a team with a guy that could be a two time Heisman winner, in a league considered the best in college football by many. . . Percy was the most dangerous player on the field. If Shep has even a little of that in him then we are in for a treat.

So, right now, we're gonna play some flag football... Who do you pick with JJ and Shep left? I'm taking shep.

I'm saving this statement when "Rantard of the Year" nominations start going out. Please, please, please tell me this was a fricking joke.

The kid is a QB and will play QB at LSU. I don't no why some of you think that the QB position is divine and only people that meet your criteria can play that position. I'm sure Coach Miles realizes what a gem he has and is not going to jeopardize future QB recruits.
