Amen! I guess they are all still looking at those high school recruiting tapes.
Look, I love Shep for the leader he has been. He has been a great role model and recruiter for LSU, but it is time to just accept that he is not going to just flip some switch and become a great player at LSU.

We are way too stacked at RB. Honestly, Shep hasn't really shown me anything that would make me "find" a spot on the field for him. We have plenty of other guys who can do just as well, if not better

Actually we had to move Trindon H to defensive end to get him some snaps so with his quickness Shep would probably fit in perfectly at DE in some blitz packages or we could use him in the same role we used Mathieu and he could score all the TDs we are losing w/o him and he could actally contend for the Heisman and everyone is happy. You're welcome, problem solved!

Shepherd needs to focus on that degree.

Every scrimmage I go to he gets many touches from various positions on the field. It blows my mind that they rarely run these plays in games.

Shep needs to get the ball in space. LSU has had some of the fastest people in college football in recent years and has yet to devise a scheme to utilize their speed.
Its funny because I see teams like Clemson making it look so easy. Would love to see what Gus Malzahn could do with our talent.

If anything, they should let him line up in shotgun and let him run the ball. By at least showing this 1-2 times a game, it would ensure that Saban wastes practice time on Shep running the ball from the qb position.
It is a good idea, but I think Saban will take the approach that they will play the same technique regardless of who is QB, and if every man does his job well, they will stop whatever the offense attempts. I just don't envision him working too much to counter one player, I don't think he is that type of guy.

Shepard is just going to have to enjoy the role of being a #5 WR. With our running game we don't need anymore "wrinkles" so that unfortunately leaves Shepard out there. Such a shame and waste of talent, but if the guy can't catch, he shouldn't be out there for the majority of WR snaps. I still think this guy could have made a good zone-read QB somewhere.

Should "we?" I don't think CLM is gonna check with TD on this. lol.

Should we play shep at tail back
No, he should be on the bench.

... Shep = "hands of stone" perhaps ... hope he gets to do something ....

Here is the problem. We do not really have the plays to give away.
In order for this too work you have to line him up at tailback and do some other things with fakes etc.
You send him in at tailback and the defense knows chances are the play is designed to get him the ball.
We have too many weapons to waste plays trying to set this play up to work. Esp when Blue and Ford can get you the same yardage as shep.

Shep's best position: decoy.

Shep looked great his first year getting snaps in the wildcat, I thought he averaged a pretty good YPC, I could be mistaken though. NO I AM NOT SUGGESTING TAKING SNAPS AWAY FROM METT
