Yikes...Shelvin and Kary Vincent both making huge mistakes. They might not even get drafted...wish them the best of luck.

Disagree with his decision but wish him the best. Think if he played this season he would for sure go first round. Now he's got an entire season to make sure he keeps his weight down and will be rusty when he starts playing again.

Honestly, to come back for a Senior year and then opt out makes me feel like it’s genuinely Covid relates.

Idk. Both could have gotten drafted last year.

It’s disappointing, but I dont Think it’s just the money because they already passed that up a year ago.

IF he keeps the weight down and IF he shows up to the combine in shape Shelvin is a good mid round pick.

2 big IFs though so hopefully this won’t backfire

Good for him, more guys going to the NFL from LSU is always good no matter how it happens.

If he gets a smart agent, the agent will put him in a program that does nothing but focus on his conditioning and how to interview. He’s plenty strong enough and good film.

Shelvin fits perfectly in a 3-4, not a 4-3. He's a space-eater. A plug. I don't think he'd have been a great DT in the traditional 4-3 scheme. If he busts his arse, works out every day, keeps his weight down, he'll be fine. Apparently, that's a big "if". I've heard people way more in the know than I say he isn't the most motivated of players.

Vincent, on the other hand, ehh...I just don't see him as a NFL caliber defensive back. He may crack a practice squad or pickup some playing time on special teams, but that's about it. I assumed he'd come back just for the extra pt and experience.

There is no way that kid is going to make it to spring of 2021 in the best shape of his life. Every single inside source talked about how the biggest problem with him is that he is not a self-motivator. Someone has to ride his arse to do everything. He is about to eat his way out of the NFL. Hope I am wrong and wish him the best.

Idk about Vincent. When he is playing well for sure I see it. He reminds me of Mills as maybe a smaller coverage safety.

When he’s off he’s terrible. Which is true of most players but he’s off for the first half the season it feels like.

why not just leave for the draft when it came up? Why wait until before the season starts to "prep"

This. First round DTs are ones who can consistently generate a pass rush as well as stop the run. Because of the scheme last year Shelvin seldomly generated any type of pass rush. This year in Bo's scheme would have been a great time to display that skill and cement himself as a first round pick.

You may have missed this but there is a global pandemic happening that has changed a few things since the beginning of the year. Called COVID 19, maybe look into it.

he saw the check from his agent and decided he'd take it.

i hope he's not bankrupt for his entire first contract, due to owing his agent the payback... whatever contract he can get, that is.

crazy he was a team representative for that 60 minutes special and was so positive and happy, then just bounced.
