If the team and coaches welcome him back then I have no issue with him rejoining the team. But I have to be honest, the kid is so hot and cold I can't imagine this is the last we hear of him wanting to go back home, etc.

Thanks for the details and well said.

The good news is you aren't on the team or involved in any of that decision making process so your hurt feelings don't matter.
If he comes back then clearly the team and coaches want him back as well.

It’s sounds like he has the brain of a bipolar woman.
looking past the insult of a 18-19 year old with obvious issues, what would make bipolar disorder for a woman seem worse to you than a man?

We need an idiot logo for this website. Like the Scarlet Letter but for people with room temperature IQs.
It'll let everyone know who to ignore.

If he is actually bipolar, then it probably will happen. He'll ride the mania high for a while then the depression will set in and he'll have issues. I assume he is medicated for this.
ETA: This is something the team will have to work thru together. Or at least parts of the team. I don't think he should be shite on though for legit having issues that lead a lot of people to homelessness and drug issues. He has a lot of life left.

There are a ton of extremely functional people in this world with bipolar disorder. Almost all of them had growing pains when working out the best treatment for themselves. It is like cancer in that it can be very unique to the individual case. Certain meds work for some, not others. Certain therapy works for some, not others.
I have the utmost faith Arik will be able to operate just fine in this world once he figures out his path. From everything we've heard, he's come a very long way in doing that.
Now, I'm not saying he won't have more issues, but I think it is worth the risk.

I've been saying all along, Gilbert should be banned from LSU football until he gives PenguinPubes an explanation

UF admissions office denied enrolling him
Is this actual sourced info? Or just more speculation that has since begun to be repeated as fact
Serious question--do you have a source for the statement that he was denied admission to florida?

I'd imagine being bipolar and being cooped up in his apartment the first year away from home can't be a good combination

You sound like a high school teenager, get over it. The kid is uber talented, and at this point LSU will take what it can get.

Co-Vd 19 affected so much more than "Flu" symptoms. The coaches need to really watch the team and intervene quicker for any behavior that is not normal. Just another reason we need life back to normal.

Might have to steal that. Agree with everything you said.
I think with all the freshmen being locked in he smoked too much and it made his bi-polar worse

This. He is incredibly talented with some issues. These issues don’t seem to be of the drag a girl down stairs of apt by her hair variety so I can’t imagine the staff not wanting him back and or thinking they can help him straighten things out and have a career. Fans are very emotional and take things personally. Where is the honey badger in this one? Seems like he would have plenty of sage advice for this young guy.

They are very intertwined. A ton of folks who have one, have the other. They are also very alike, so much so they get misdiagnosed for each other very often.
Source: Family member with both.
And without a support system, it doesn't get better. It's one of those things that really takes a village. That is the biggest reason you see people spiral out of control - they didn't have the support they needed to get through it. Very tough to do alone.

Sounds like he needed a mega slice of humble pie. Based on the rumors from weed to academics it seems like he thought he was just going to skate through 3 years to the NFL with little to no pressure or expectations outside of being a great athlete on gameday. I hope he comes back and has to ride the bench as a backup for a while so he can get himself squared away as a college student and then have a monster Junior year for us.
